Just wanted to know whether or not fancy cut stones are more prone to chipping, cracking, breaking etc??? Or are the perhaps MORE stable than traditional cuts??? Thanks!
Durability depends on the chemical composition of the gemstone, not so much its cut (and of course, its clarity to a certain extent). The only way it can possibly be more prone to damage than traditional cutting would be an extremely pointy corner or a very thin girdle, as mentioned by Coati.
