:wavey: What constitutes a quality Aquamarine? I love the look but know nothing about the stone what saturation of color is best, etc. I seem to be more attracted to step cuts than rounds or ovals. Is there a preferred cut? :read:

Thanks!!!

Usually the darker the tone, the more expensive the aquamarine per carat. Aqua is one of the few stones that isn't necessarily more expensive based on the saturation of color, although I personally prefer more saturated material. I also personally prefer aquas with a more noticable greenish secondary, but the trade preference prefers ones without it, and many aquas are heated to remove this greenish secondary.

On this page you will see various tones, saturations and hues of aquas.

Very interesting... I like the ones without the green best... but deeper blue versus lighter... Thank you for the link!
