I've been looking for an aqua for sometime. The other night I came across this lovely 1.2ct, 7.5x6.5mm, fancy oval and was wondering if you all feel that it could possibly fit a standard 8x6 oval setting? It is smaller than I had hoped for, but I really fell in love with the cut on it.

Hrm, if it''s a 4 prong setting then probably. If it''s a 6 prong setting (or bezel, semi-bezel) then probably not.

Thanks Kismet-Sorry, I should have mentioned a 4 prong setting-if not it would have to probably go custom.

If I did a 3 stone ring, what shape sides do you see with the fancy oval??? Pears?

Lovely stone. Pears would be nice accents and I would also like to suggest tapred bagettes.

Hmm, I think the baguettes would be nice. Cool stone!!

I saw a pic of that stone in it''s rough stage, and it was just as blue!! Very nice stone. Please let us know how you like it when/if you get it, and please post pics if you can.

That''s a gorgeous blue; no gray at all. It''s so lovely I''d let it shine by itself in a ring.

There is one that is coming on ACS Wednesday

I agree with Chrono - shapes as fancy (complicated) as this have enough going on and don''t need any company. Maybe just a few tiny accent stones on the shank or something, but I''d let this one take the stage. Great stone, BTW

Thanks for all the lovely input!

I have tried 2 times to contact the cutter to purchase, with no avail. So who knows-I actually have a setting that I think it would look lovely in. It is a hand engraved 18kt WG cathedral with channel set rounds in the shank. It''s kind of a small stone so I think it would need some extra sparkle!

Maybe his email system is kicking yours out. I hate when that happens. He might still get back to you.

Give him a little more time. Any chance of calling him?

The stone is on it''s way!!! YAY!

I am super excited to see it in person.

ok, now tell us who cut this lovely.

What a beautiful and unique shaped stone! Not sure about sidestones, but I would definately have a setting custom made for the stone to really showcase it''s beautiful/unique shape and to protect the corners of the stone. How lovely!

I think a little bird might have led him to this thread.

Congrats - you have to post pics when you get it.

Thank goodness he got your emails! I can''t wait to see it too.

Ok, now that you have it on the way, please tell us who cut it.

I know who it is! It''s an easy stone to recognize and I have visited the site before.
