The orange ones below look scarily close to high grade topaz: and they get near 40 cts!

Not really... I like them cabs (the orange are definitely facet grade though), pebbles and beads. Facets are not exactly my thing, believe it or not. I am planning to collect interesting beryl colors for a strand so they'll wait.
