Wedding Appropriate wedding attire?

So my husband and I are going to a friend''s wedding tomorrow, and I really don''t feel like wearing a dress. I have a really nice pair of charcoal colored dress pants that I wear for work meetings and nights out on the town. I''m thinking I could wear those with a nice black dress shirt, dress jacket, and a swanky pair of heels and not have to worry about all of the trimmings that come with a dress.

Would this be a major no-no? I''ve always worn dresses to weddings, but I just don''t have any desire to wear a dress when it''s projected to be rainy and chilly. Does that make sense? Am I being difficult?

I hope it''s not a big no-no because to be honest I wore something similar a friend''s wedding a while back! Haha, anyway I think it would be cute!

I don't think there's any rule that says you have to wear a dress to a wedding! Dressy, yes, but all dresses all the time? Even some of the MOB outfits are pantsuits. Wear whatever makes you comfortable!
