DS said it best, but for those who enjoy it why
not get creative and show some real bling.

no need to put holes in both ears, just put them
all in one ear.

Too funny dhog, but then I would look exactly like my mother and then I'd have to shoot myself........As a matter of fact, I have begun a novel and not too long ago finished the first chapter. My book is called.........."Would Someone Please Shoot Me, I've Become My Mother!" And my partner has started writing a sequal entitled........"So I Did!"

But John.......Don't you have a responsibility to your business to demonstrate the best of your product in public??? I mean come on.........shouldn't you be wearing a 'honkin nice ring and shouldn't you have a fabulously cut stud?? It's like selling Mercedes Benz automobiles, but riding a bicycle???? LOL

Still, you didn't answer my question. What's Whiteflash policy on selling single studs? Can I choose a Ready Set stud??

Thanks Matey!!!!!
Rod - Of course your logic is sound, but WF makes items available when I go out to rep us, so not much leverage there. Also, my girl has company in her crusade to keep herself pirate-free: My mom is right there with her. Now so is Diamondseeker... Avast.

As for your question, sure we'll sell a single. If you're considering WF and don't mind a suggestion, you may want to consider a lab-graded ES or ACA, since it will qualify for trade-up if you ever do want to go larger.

I'm psyched about your lobe strobe. I think I'm living vicariously through you.

Thanks John. I am most definitely considering WF. To me, Whiteflash is a stellar example of a vendor who provides quality, sound consumer education and does a really good job of not participating in controversy.

I'll be in touch when the holidays get closer. Now, I just have to convince my partner that this is necessary!!! Hmmmmm.

Oh, well if your partner and you are both turning into your mothers, then you could go ahead and by the WF ready set go 1.5ctw and he and you could each wear a .75 stud and really flaunt that you turned into your mothers :)

Just kidding!

I agree that your should buy a loose stone and have it mounted. In the unlikely event you ever want a bigger stone, you don''t lose what you already spent. Plus its FUN to choose out your own personal stone :)

Hmmm, one day will my sons fear they are turning into me? I hope not but I guess its inevitable right?? Probably my daughters too LOL.

Not only do I hear her words spill from my mouth, but she sometimes stares back at me when I see myself in a mirror. Spooky and yes, your sons and daughters will likely have similar experiences in their lifetime.........

Scary but true.

My dad passed away a few years ago and I swear, he is living in my older son's body. My son sometimes says things and does things that are SO much like my dad it spooks me. Right down to the facial expression and the way he moves. And 2 of my children are carbon copies of me in terms of looks and 2 of my husband in looks. Kinda scary but fun :)

As I'm getting older, I sometimes glance at myself in the mirror and see my mother as well. And I'm not thrilled with that. Oh well.

Oh, and talk about things spilling from my mouth of my parents, when my kids are fighting with each other and I'm at my wits end, I will say something in frustration and them and then think, OH MY GOSH, did I really just say that?? I am them at times!

Hence the title of my book........."Will Somone Please Shoot Me, I''ve Become My Mother?" I suppose the twist is I''m her son, but we all adopt many of our parents characteristics as time marches forward............

I have to tell you, one of my kids that is a carbon copy of me is my son!

I love those titles you and your partner came up with. Very cute :)

I live in LA, and it''s not uncommon to see like 7+ mm rounds on men (fakeys?)

But I think .25-.5 is a good size.

Little blue box? http://www.tiffany.com/shopping/item.aspx?sku=19686302&mcat=148203&page=2&menu=0&cid=130442

HAH.
I agree with JulieN

Half of a year, I am living castro in Sanfrancisco.
many men has very good taste over there but I don''t see big diamond studs often.
maybe .50 ?could be more small
couple weeks ago I went to cool artistic jeweler in castro and one worker was wearing small stud
but super sparkle and cool. so I did ask him what''s the size. it was around 40 point.
( he was 6.2" )
if too big it''s looks like fake because I see many teenager boy wearing fake looks one.

I heared that now WF has good selection & good price of ACA about 30~

Me too.
I like the gracious and non-combative style that John Pollard has.
Instead of needing to defend himself and go on and on to prove he's right, he seems to maintain a calm energy about him.
I don't get the feeling that he's trying to sell and convince; he seems to just be sharing a love and enthusiasm for diamonds as he informs.
It puts me at ease and it reflects well on Whiteflash.

We buyers make decisions based on funny things, don't we?

I also have been considering an earbling.
But I wonder if it would bother me to wear something so nice that I could never see and enjoy.

I'd probably keep it between .5 to .7 carat.
I'm pretty sure it would be round though my interest in squares is increasing, asschers, princess, and emerald cuts.
When AGS 0 asschers are here it will be hard to resist grabbing one.

BTW this may have been covered before but rings are seen usually looking down at them, frequently with the light coming form above.
I think "good" cuts are optimize for this, relatively, on-axis light return.

With an earring the light will usually be coming from 90 degrees off axis.
Does that mean buying an "ideal", HCA=1.0 is not smart for an earring?
What are the optimum numbers for earring diamonds?

It's true, we don't get to enjoy earrings the same as a ring. Everyone else gets to though. And it just gives you a good feeling. I wore my new ACA studs out for the first time last night, to a club we frequent. Went over to talk to an old male friend, and after hugging me he lightly touched my ear and said, "I'm liken these. I noticed them the minute you walked in, they are flashing all over the place".

I don't know which I enjoyed more, the compliment, or the fact that it came from a guy.

Buy one, they're fun.

Hey Ellen.......I'm sure the compliment and notice your new earbling (I like that.....thanks Kenny) was a great feeling. We're still waiting for pics you know.......

Hey Kenny........I'm sure you'll have fun looking for just the right stone and size for your ear. I have pretty well decided nothing larger than .4 carat for me. But as Julie commented, I will likely get a really well cut, somewhat shallow stone for my ear. Actually, just about anything would be better cut than the nearly frozen spit I currently wear. Amazing how gullible we could be when we knew nothing. "Oh......That's a superb stud, sir........G/H, SI for sure." Bunk.......Oh well......I've learned a lot since then.

Cheers!!

Rod,

This entire thread made me laugh out loud... you boys can wear diamond studs too... just so long as they aren''t HUGE or really fake looking... No pirates or cheap-skates allowed! I''ve seen some pretty ugly ones out there and it makes me just want to rip them out of their ears. Okay, that sounds violent, but really, some are hideous!

Hope the search for the perfect stud is going well
