I''ve contacted an appraiser in my town (Windsor, Ont.) and although he doesn''t quite measure up to the scrutiny of RockDoc or Dave Atlas, would it be acceptable for insurance only to use someone who doesn''t use a sarin machine for measurements and will grade the stone mounted.
I''ve purchased the diamond from GOG and given the excellent reputation of Jonathan, I have no concerns about it matching the documentation provided.

Thanks.
Joe.

I guess it depends on the policy of your insurance company.

If they will give you cash and you can buy whatever you like then it should be ok.

However, if they will just replace your diamond to a similar one according to appraisal, then there is no guarantee you'll get an ideal cut stone.
