Was the appraisal done on the stone loose or was it in a mounting? If mounted it''s considerably more difficult to get a true color.Date: 2/16/2005 3:12:35 PM

Ooops, sorry about that. We bought our diamond from blue nile and the diamond was appraised as an H, whereas the GIA certif called it a G. Everything else (clarity, ct weight, cut, polish, symmetry) matched between the two. The diamond is beautiful and we love it but can''t help feeling somewhat ripped off. The appraisal value is still more than what we paid, but we understand that that is an inflated value that says nothing about what the diamond''s true cost is. What should we do? Should we do anything or should we just leave well enough alone?
