So, I have been thinking...what do you find sexy? What makes a person attractive to you? I don''t necessarily think that a person with bulging muscles or a perfect body is appealing.

I was watching my bf build an elliptical he bought for us, and I was just watching him and thought to myself how sexy he looked building it...I love his wrists.

Just curious... So what is it? What strikes you as appealing? What tickles your fancy?

I dunno - definitely intelligence, and a certain amount of kindness, and a sense of humor. But really something beyond all that - I think for me its always been an x-factor of some kind, that there are plenty of people I objectively think are attractive, but not to me personally, and so for those who are, there''s some additional chemistry of some kind there.

I like an extremely confident man. I also find wit, intelligence, and a strong Roman nose sexy.
I have a weakness for great shoulders, too. Broad, defined, a few striations. Mmmmm.

I used to not think this, but... a man in a uniform. I think race car drivers, with their helmets on, are super sexy - and men in military uniforms with vests and straps all over their uniforms... nice.

I think confidence is also a key factor - and yes, something to do with chemistry, kind of like beauty is in the eye of the beholder - there is always something different that I think is attractive - on an individual basis.

Sexy to me is a guy with a kick ass sense of humor, someone that is highly intelligent. Can have great debates with me, and not walk away wounded. DH and I love our debates!!

Incredible intelligence. That''s what first attracted me to FI. He is so brilliant and capable of doing and figuring out anything. That and his gorgeous smile. *swoon* And incredible manners and consideration. That is also so swoon worthy. First and foremost a sense of humor! I think you have to be intelligent and witty, creative and fun to have a sense of humor. Then, it''s the eyes. I have to "see" the man through the eyes. I also love facial hair especially thick eyebrows (Colin Farrel). I don''t like that ripped look, I actually prefer a bit of a belly over a 6 pack. And, he''s got to basically have the physique of a lumber jack. I don''t like ''em skinny! If there''s a fire, I need two ways to safety--one is on my own feet, the other is on his back!!

Funny - my bf has light brown hair but I have always been atracted to darker haired guys.

Yes, that is VERY sexy! I love it when FI fixes things or builds something. Sooooo hot.

I was attracted to my Bf in high school for a couple of reasons- he was quiet (which was a huge thing, guys can be SOOOO obnoxious) and now I love looking at him clean and take care of the kitties to when he helps me babysit, and he plays with the kids like gets really into it. it''s sooo cute. It helps he has a great body and has a great fashion sense, but i like to think that came from me when we started dating

Overall, I like that he is responsible. I kind of sensed it right away, and I love how independent he is!!

Tall, in good shape - not too thin, broad shoulders. Witty and intelligent. I also agree with Ambergretchen on the X factor. There are some men, that usually aren''t jaw droppingly hot by any means, but that just have a certain something that makes them very appealing, and I have absolutely no idea why.

I like guys with dark hair, blue eyes and pale skin the best. And a nice white smile. 5 o'clock shadow or a little scruff. Regular guy/sporty clothes are the best. Funny and nice (I like to be the mean one!). Smart, but not arrogant. Not super skinny, but in good shape.

ETA I like muscular forearms-that's my random sexy thing I like!

Super duper intelligence accompanied by a great sense of humor (with some kindness thrown in!) Over the years I have found it really interesting how these two things can make anyone incredibly sexy (and thus attractive!)

I love a cocky guy. Not quite arrogant, but cocky, with a good sense of humour. I like guys right at that point just after an acceptable level of confidence. HUGE turn on in my book.

I like athletic guys. I love smart guys. If a guy can kick a soccer ball and make his way through Descartes or Levi-Strauss, or hold an involved conversation on various world religions, I''m in love.

Number one appealing trait: sense of humor. It trumps everything else. The guy can be a troll (well, sort of), but he must have a sense of humor. The smart, and very often smart-butt kind of humor is my preference.

Number two: kindness. It will show in their face, in the way they interact with others, the way they treat you. Not just courtesy. Kindness.

Number three: a sense of confidence . . . in themselves, in their choices, in who they are down deep.

Number four: Looks. Doesn''t have to classical good looks; no need for killer abs. But they must be clean, neat, groomed, not overly hairy, smell of soap or great cologne, visit the dentist regularly, and dress decently.

I''ll be sorta repetitive and say sense of humor. However, without the intellect, the type of sense of humor I require wouldn''t even be possible, so first and foremost must be intellect, THEN sense of humor. Sharp, pithy, unexpected, dry, sardonic. Not sense of humor as much as WIT.

Courtesy. The ability NOT to say something - ie, self-control. Old-fashioned, unselfconscious manners. Holds open doors, opens car doors, carries packages.

Tough minded. Not heartless, but more to the Vulcan side of the equation.

Manly, strong, blocky hands that WORK, OR manly, but excellently groomed hands. Either will do, but you really can''t have both. (My man WORKS...on boats, cars, "stuff"....and his hands usually sport several MGB or boat bites at any given time.)

Manly voice. Prefer deep voices.

Cooks well.

Doesn''t fuss about his looks. Is well-groomed and excellently dressed, but after that effort, doesn''t worry about it for the rest of the day.

Prefer tall-ish, but not Jolly Green Giant height, and slightly under 6'' is just fine. Whipcord muscles that look like they work, rather than work OUT. High contrast coloring - meaning dark hair/eyes and light skin. Blondes are at the bottom of my list. I''m not saying they can''t be handsome, just that they won''t typically whip my head around when walking by.
