Anything wrong in my diamond?

Hi,
I'm new here but i really need your help. Finally my engagement ring has arrived on Saturday. I was so excited but unfortunately it's nor sparkling as i'm expected it to be or the similar diamonds they have shown to us when we went to the shop. I selected an emerald shape GIA certified stone. Now when i read this i only got to know about steep deep diamonds but i don't know if mine is that kind of a diamond or anything else wrong with it. I'm just wondering why this diamond seems to lack a certain fire and sparkles from the inside. And eventhough it's colour F, it seems like yellowish. The GIA cert says F, SI1, Ex cut, Ex polish, VG Symmetry, none fluo but Girdle is thick to very thick. Report number is 5253228106. Kindly if any of you can please tell me if there is anything wrong in it? Or is because it's emerald shape? Thank you very much.

My first suggestion always is to clean the diamond very well.
Step cuts show oils very quickly after cleaning,
It is amazing how easily a very good cleaning can reveal the beauty.
You may to clean several times...hot water & dish detergent, toothbrush, good rinse.
Please let us know if this makes the difference you hope for.

Thanks Jimmianne.
Ring is brand new, so should i still need to rinse/clean it to see it sparkles or not?
Do you have any thoughts on the diamond quality by looking at the GIA report for me to have a peace of mind? This is my first diamond ring therefore I have nothing to compare.
Thanks

Don't forget that the lights in the shops are designed to make diamonds sparkle as much as possible - in a flat lighting environment without any pinpoint light sources (such as inside on an overcast day without any lights on) the stone will not have any direct beams of light to bounce around and disperse into sparkling coloured fire.

Do you have spotlights in any of your rooms? If so, look at it in that room with the lights on and see what it looks like.

A GIA grade of F colour should be basically white, but diamonds will reflect the light around them - so if you're in a magnolia-painted room, the only light available for the diamond will be magnolia in colour, which will make the stone look more tinted than it is.

EDIT: All of that said, really good ECs are tricky to find - they are seemingly difficult to cut to really perform well.

Did you buy from James Allen? or a local shop?

Did you get as ASET image of the diamond?

Are you still within the return period?

Thanks Jimmianne.

Yes, in fact it only takes a few hours for a step cut to pick up enough oil to start looking dull, and several times I have gotten “new” diamonds that were in a need of a deep cleaning.

Thanks OoohShiny.

Regarding the colour - now that makes sense. Room was not magnolia but my curtains are orange colour and i was next to them :)
I'm from UK so bought it from 77Diamonds. No I didn't get ASET. Should i ask that?
Yes I'm still within 30 days return period.
Actually side small stones are more sparkly under a light (I checked last night under spotlights) and i noticed the middle diamond was also sparkly but still not as i was expecting it to be. Definitely better than day light.

ECs don't really sparkle/show fire like a round under normal lighting. They are known for their broad facets that create a very different effect. Your side stones are showing fire (small flashes of light) because they are round.

Here's a video that shows what to look for:

You can also buy an ASET kit to look a the stone and post pics here. Just be sure you can get it shipped to the UK with enough time to use within your 30-day window. Good quality video in natural, indirect light will also help the EC lovers here tell you more about it.
