I’m trying to figure out a right hand something.

I was going to do two separate rings to wear at same
Time on different fingers (or whatever I feel that day), but I have been feeling lately that I might want a mash up.

So now I am thinking of something like this: with my oval sapphire and two HPD diamonds (have one).

But i’m Having a hard time with proportions. It doesn’t need to be the proportions of this particular ring. It just needs to look right.

I was going to do something like this:

Lol. Tired and distracted and I have to find the HPD dimensions. It’s a .56

Will finish later/tomorrow

I’m thinking I need smaller diamonds or a larger sapphire

Alright, we are headed to the NBA game west round 2 playoffs...

So I didn’t get a chance to check my HPD dimensios, but here is another .56

Mine is I assume close enough to get an idea.

Thank you so much to anyone who wants to take a shot at this.

I would go a tad larger on the sapphire, or smaller on the side stones.
Just FYI my HPD Trilogie had .53 sides (5.2 mm) and a 8.36 x 8.39 mm center diamond.

Unless you want the proportions to be more like 89% instead of 62%.

We are driving home, so I will work on this later today.

I wouldn't want to go smaller than .50 for the diamonds.

This sounds like a beautiful project. @whitewave I notice you’re working with diamonds from HPD which will all be Crafted by Infinity (I believe). It may be helpful to know that any 0.50 carat they provide will spread right at 5.10-5.12 mm. Likewise, another 0.56 will land at 5.30-5.32 mm. They are extremely consistent which is helpful when matching several together.

Ok, a few vacations are over and I am thinking about this today.

Given the size of the sapphire, what I want to know is what is the largest side stone diamonds I can use and have the ring still look proportional?

I think I probably need to go down to .50 each?
Thanks.

Is this an actual picture of your current ring. I don't think I've ever seen a mount so high before without anything of interest below it. What's the story?

It’s a temporary stone holder, not a ring.=)2

I think a wide variety or proportions work. I happen to have a oval sapphire that is 6x4 mm in my queue to set. Yours is a bit wider than mine, but Maybe these will help?

6x4 sapphire with 5.5 mm spinel side stones. This would be in the same range as the .5 carat CBI side stones.

In the below example, the stone are all of the same size and I think this still look lovely. With a hexagon, you can kind cheat the eye.

I'd say the inspo ring you like has more like 3 mm side stones. If you want a little more size in the center relative to the sides, you could play with a metal halo or hexagon. Can you see how the center hexagon on the lower ring is a bit wider than the upper? This give a bit more presence to the center. You could also have a

This is part of why I love them.

I’m liking these.

I’ll just make this my project board post. I won’t be ready to do this project until 2019 so I have time to look and think
