Anyone tried decorating their Christmas tree with pearls?

I mean faux pearls, not real ones although some of you may have enough pearls to use them as decorations...

Came across some pics on Pinterest and was curious.
Pls post pics if you have tried!

This actually crossed my mind yesterday. I was in a craft store and a party supply store, and both had ropes of faux pearls. The craft store had glass pearls, and the party supply had plastic pearls (long ropes for flapper costumes). Very inexpensive, and not too heavy for the tree. I think glass pearls might be too heavy for a natural tree.

Nope, but I have a small tabletop tree that I decorated entirely with stone beads (amethyst, quartz, some green dyed crystals, etc) and silver stars.

ok i first thought the title read "anyone tried coordinating their christmas tree with their pearls?" and while my second thought was "goodness that's taking things a bit far," i have to admit my mind first jumped to a tree festooned with cherry tahitian strands...

I've often thought that some of the carved Galatea pearls look like Christmas ornaments.

OK, I did it. I ran across some cheapie faux strands while looking for other things, so I draped them on the tree.

I think you need A LOT of pearls, like in the original post photo, otherwise it just looks like a random afterthought. Also, white pearls show up best.

OK, I did it. I ran across some cheapie faux strands while looking for other things, so I draped them on the tree.

I think you need A LOT of pearls, like in the original post photo, otherwise it just looks like a random afterthought. Also, white pearls show up best.

I decided I didn't have enough pearls to make it look right, so I took them off.

Years ago I had a small table-top tree, and decorated it with ropes of faux pearl and of red wooden beads, and hung only gold ornaments and crystal icicles - it is one of my favorite Christmas trees ever - it was really pretty and rather traditional.
