anyone see anything wrong with this video

Saw this comparison video on Youtube freshly uploaded. I've seen some of this vids from this company before and found them insightful and educational. This one is a bit bothersome because he's trying to promote his line of diamonds while misleading the viewer. Maybe I'm being too critical? His stone is clearly a stunner but choosing a rb with clear leakage under the table is misleading to me. Hope he hasn't taken it down after sweet and loving comment...Thought I'd share either way

It's not a good comparison for me either as he's comparing different shapes and I'd be interested to know what the proportions are for the GIA XXX, as we know, they're not created equal. Comparing it with a Superideal H&A might be a better comparison IMO but still not comparing apples to apples, however the octagon is a lovely stone, not to my taste but it's beautiful.

I totally agree. If you're using AGS ideal standards to scrutinize the octagon, why wouldn't they use an AGS ideal round if the point is that the octa is better than the round? smh

Tbh to me the octagon just looks like a round with the edges cut off... I do quite like the shape and appearance of it, but I agree it seems really disingenuous to be comparing an ideally cut stone with one that has such uncomplimentary proportions.
I think these comparison videos are important for consumers to understand the differences between cut styles as well as comparing cut quality, proportions, colour etc and I have relied on them when researching my own preferences.
It is therefore disappointing when there is such an unfair comparison being made as it doesn't really offer the consumer any information or comparison of value. If I want to see whether I prefer one shape to another, I'd want the cut quality to be the same or at least as good as can be for each shape.

Awesome! thanks for sharing this video. @Lorelei is this a new Super Ideal Cut H&A diamonds but in Octagon shape? It looks more brilliant than a normal round.
