You guys should join the weekly workout thread (WWT)! We''re all exercising, dieting, and trying to tone up and lose weight. Everyone has different goals, but it''s a really great place to get motivation, tips, etc. I think a few people on there have been on WW in the past too.
Lumpkin, I just wanted to say don''t feel daunted with the WWT, as we are all works in progress and at different levels, we all had to start somewhere, if you want to chime in then please do so!!! Everyone is welcome regardless of whether they are working out or not, or what level they are at, you don''t even have to share much about your routines if you don''t wish too. But if you would rather not join in, that is ok too!!! The thread has grown and moves fast these days!Date: 7/17/2007 1:07:21 AM

I''m doing WW. Well. I''m paying for the meetings and I''m going to them. I have not really been tracking because, frankly, I''m stressed out lately and I''ve been comfort eating. I have not, up to now, gained back all the weight I lost, although it''s creeping back. I make myself go to the meetings so I can ''own'' the consequences. This week I''m getting back on track, though.
I don''t really cook much, like with recipes. I tend to try to keep things really simple -- 4 oz pork chop, long grain wild rice, and steamed broccolli type meals. My family won''t touch casseroles, except my husband likes Hamburger helper. Obviously can''t do that, so I go the whole foods route for the most part.
The WWT is too advanced for me, LOL! My fitness level is much lower than those on that thread and I find it a little daunting. It moves a little too fast for me, too, so I find it hard to keep up with everyone''s posts. The Weight Watchers boards move way too fast, too. Like 5-10 new threads a minute? I personally wouldn''t mind a separate Weight Watchers thread here on PS, but I don''t know if that''s okay?

I LOVE the Fiber One bars. But....BE CAREFUL....make sure you only eat one a day. I was really on the run one day and literally didn''t have time to fix anything, so over about 4 hours I had 3 of those bars. Umm, without sharing TMI I will just say....don''t do that.Date: 7/17/2007 8:24:31 AM

Lumpkin, sure!
Do you have any point friendly recipes? I posted a recipe on the WW Recipe thread for 8 pt izza dough which makes 2 pizza crusts.
Also, the Fiber One chocolate bars are 2 ts and super yummy. Do you do the soup recipe???

I have done WW in the past but I was using the CORE system... anyone else using that?
I only lost about 5lbs but I felt so much better. I pretty much memorized what was on the core list of foods so I didnt see paying 15 buck a month for the service...
So anyone else on CORE?
I eat a lot of fiber in general so my body is use to it black bean soup, broccoli, bran muffins, high fiber breads. heheheDate: 7/17/2007 3:11:14 PM

I''m going to try the core plan for a week. I like the idea of eating until you are comfortably satisfied and listening to your body. Before I had kids I followed the US Food Guide Pyramid and made sure that no matter what else I ate, I ate the vegetables, grains, fruits, dairy and meats. I was never hungry and I lost quite a little bit of weight, and when I quit doing it I didn''t gain it back for a long time. If I find the WW too restricting or just lose patience with the tracking I''m going to go back to that. I''ll still probably go to meetings. If I have to go weigh in I''m more honest, LOL!
Have you purchaed WW fast food guide? I find it helpful when going to the drive thru since it gives points.Date: 7/18/2007 5:05:28 PM

I have, Skippy. I just don''t like it! But I will say that eating that yogurt is not what put weight on me -- it''s the drive thru food. Definitely!
Glad you joing weight watchers; sounds like you are back on track (kudos)! writing everything we eat down helps a lot! Does everyone agree?Date: 7/22/2007 9:09:19 AM

How is everyone doing on WW this week?![]()
I joined Wednesday and it actually feels good to be back on the program. Now with my controlled eating on points, I am shocked to see how much I was eating for a while. The past year since my engagement party and wedding, I gained 20 lbs during all of it! Apparently I was just eating with reckless abandon. So it''s a relief to be back on points and feel in control. I''m excited about weigh-in this Wednesday!
I wish I could get my hubby to join; he could lost 15 lbs. I think writing down points helps. I need to stop meeting friends for lunch.Date: 7/23/2007 5:39:08 PM

I love WW.. its a great way to eat.. It does work and when I was a good girl doing it, really saw results.. lately.. I could certainly eat 35 points of Skinny Cows and not give it another thought.. There are thousands of great recipes, I swear.
I am desperate to get back on track.. mooooo!!!
Steve doesn''t know it yet.. but he''s about to jump on board as well.. LOL![]()

I'm going to try the core plan for a week. I like the idea of eating until you are comfortably satisfied and listening to your body. The first couple of days you might feel bloated (because you are eating less carbs and more fruits and veggies) but once you get most of the refined sugars and carbs out of your system you will feel fabulous. When I was doing core I felt the best in terms of energy and food cravings than at any other time.
I need to go back on it... LOL... I just tend to get carried away with the points that you can use to eat anything. I swear I went over every week.
How do you stay motivated?
Skippy: Does your WW leader not teach you guys how to eat out successfully? There is no reason why you cannot meet friends for lunch, you just have to make the right choices. This is why I preach attending meetings in a loud voice from the top of my soapbox. I went out ALL THE TIME when I first joined WW & in the 4 years I kept the weight off before starting my family. It is all about knowing what to order that A) you like and B) is the right choice.Date: 7/23/2007 10:08:52 PM

I just found out Steve''s Mom is paying for our gym membership through the end of the year.. THANK GOD.. which means Steve can spend an hour or so a day in the pool swimming, using the spa and weights.. this is going to be very good for him.. It also means we get to spend some quality time TOGETHER OUT OF THE HOUSE..Date: 7/23/2007 10:08:52 PM
