can we see some pics of ur venue?

boy, are you in the right place! I''m already planning a friend''s wedding for her because i''m having withdrawals now that my own is over with!

here are a few questions that might help you get the ball rolling:
1. What is the overall mood you''d like your wedding to project? Do you want it girly and romantic, classic and traditional, fun and whimsical? A lot can be figured out just by knowing if you want to have a crazy party atmosphere or a more reserved classy event. NOTE: that sounded like I was putting down the former, but that was exactly what I wanted for my wedding, so don''t take it that way, please!

2. What is your favorite color? What is your FI''s favorite color? Do you care about your colors coordinating with the season or would you rather just go with whatever colors regardless? If that''s unclear, let me give an example: we got married in October. Great fall colors would''ve been oranges, reds, golds, browns, etc. My husband and I both LOVE blue, though, so we went with blues and greens despite the fall wedding date. Our wedding colors looked like an Old Navy shopping bag, but we loved them! On the other hand, Gypsy used all fall colors, and hers was gorgeous.

3. What''s the overall style of your venue?

Hope that helps a little, and please come back to give us more information. I

this stuff, ha!

I dont have any pictures of the venue because I am on my work computer not my personal one, but the link to their website is http://www.firetowermiami.com/home.html you can go there to get some idead but the pictures seem a little out dated. I will post more pictures when I get on my computer. Which wont be until tomorrow because I have a wedding tonight which will hopefully give me some ideas!

Hmm Im really not sure I feel like I want a mix of it all, for the dinner I want a mix of romantic and traditional, but after dinner is over I want it to be a crazy fun party.

My favorite color is pink and D''s is green, I really wanted the colors to match the season, originally we were getting married in may and I had beautiful green dressed picked with pink and white flowers it was very nice, but since we changed to November I would really like to stick with fall colors.

Oh and one thing we know for sure is that we do not want the Bridesmaids wearing brown/chocolate dresses.

Thanks!!

hmm...since you like pink and wanted to use fall colors, what about a darker pinkish red, like cranberry or berry? depending on the shade, you might could even pair that with a shade of green to tie in your FI''s favorite color, too.

if you want to transition from a very traditional, classic dinner to a more party vibe later, one thing i''ve found that works great for that is using glass containers for centerpieces, particularly if the flowers are submerged in the container, and having a light base underneath it. when the light is off, they look pretty traditional, but when lit up, they become a lot more modern. the same effect can be achieved by having the lights on during dinner, then turning them off and having candles around the centerpiece base for later. i attached a pic of centerpiece ideas that''d work well on or off for achieving that transition. lighting is a great way to play around with changing the overall atmosphere of a party.

do you have any pictures of stuff you like? theknot.com is a great place to browse for pictures.

You could have a really warm fall wedding...think, Fall In Love.

With it being so close to Thanksgiving...people are in the holiday spirit.

I would go with rusty oranges, and rich chocolates, with a touch of deep plums. Fall is a great time to get married, because you can evoke feelings of being cozy and rustic. Using complimentary textures with fill up the space and making it interesting.

You could create fantastic centerpieces of bare trees...which are basically branches tied together by a florist to look like tiny trees, they are pretty popular right now. You could get small, tiny laterns to drap from the branches. Around the bottom you could use a little display of moss. Or, if the tree are out of budget, consider setting up a lanterscape...using different sized laterns lit with various sized candles--you can buy these lanters for a low cost at Ikea.

Fill the room with candle light and dramatic up lighting. They make these really beautiful votive candles that are glitter and they come in various tones.

You could use tiny pumpkins for place cards...by writting each name in fancy script on one. Setting them up on a long placecard table, dotting full bloom mums around.

Your BM's could wear deep purple, or rusty orange.

Your guests could enter into the reception thru a canopy of raw branches tied together, making a rustic archway.

I don't know where you live, but November is chilly here in Chicago--and we like things to be warm...so you could create a warm feeling by drapping the ceiling with raw silks. Copy the fabic on your table, and chairs...doing this chocolate tones will warm up the room.

You could use the deep purple, and rusty orange calla lilies for your flowers.

Serve your guest comfort foods like smashed mashed potatoes in martini glasses, you could serve steak--or go more holiday fare with a roasted turkey and cranberry chutney. Serve a warm and chilled apple spice cider. You could have a "bobbing for apple martini" signature drink.

You could make the parting favor a really beautiful big, fat, red candy apple tied up in clear wrap with a raffe bow and little note talking about "fall in love".

Hey I don''t know if you guys had known this, maybe you had or not. But I originally was planning for november 21 next year but switched to the saturday before because apparently the 21 is the weekend that hunting season opens up so if you have any hardcore hunters in your family they may opt out (if they are as hardcore as my family anyways). If you don''t you are lucky you got such a cool date! If you do, may just be something to consider. Ok that''s all, just wanted to let you know :)

some great ideas, italia! here''s some pictures of some fall stuff i liked--they''re all jumbled together, but maybe you''ll like some of the stuff in there!

Wow these are all great ideas!

Doodle: I really like the idea for the color cranberry. The wedding I had yesterday had tall cylindrical glass containers for the center pieces that looked gorgeous so I understand what you mean.

ItalianHairColor: To start I absolutely loveee the "Fall in Love" that could be my theme of the entire wedding! At first I wanted to do the rustic orange but I felt like everyone used that color and I want my wedding to be something no one has ever seen before. I also love candles so that is a good idea to incorporate into our wedding.

Smurfysmiles: I only have one really big hunter in my family and I''m sure they would give up the first day of hunting season for one year to come to my wedding, and if they dont then they are not the kind of person I would want at my wedding.

I was thinking maybe my colors could be Cranberry and I could pair it with the green (D''s Favorite Color) and add a purplish? Do those colors seem to work well together?

I found a couple of pictures of things I like Im going to post them so that everyone may give there input, first i found this bouquet, It has some of the colors I mentioned above. It has the rusty orange that I liked that everyone used so I can incorporate that without making it my main color. I think I would just add a little more purple and cranberry to the mix.

Something like this for the tall center pieces

tallcenterpieces384.jpg

hmm looking back I think I may prefer the colors of the small center pieces to the colors of the bouquet! any thoughts?

I love the short center piece, both the colors and the flowers, what kind are they do you know?

i think it has calla lillies, roses, carnation maybe Im not really sure Im hoping i can find a florist that will know

you need to page gypsy on the flowers--that woman is a walking encyclopedia to the floral world! i personally love the idea of doing cranberry, green, and another color. part of the second board i posted included a board i stole from somewhere else where the whole thing was cranberry and chartreuse, and it was inspired by a cymbidium orchid. i loved the look of it, but i was worried that some might think it was a little too christmasy. i think cranberry or a darker purple either one would be pretty as a bridesmaid dress because the colors flatter so many skin tones and hair colors. also love those centerpieces. keep posting--it looks like you''ve got the ideas flowing now!

i liked that this pic included a lot of the colors you mentioned, so i''m posting it...also, call me airheaded, but i didn''t know you could get cymbidiums in this color!

cymbidium-orchid-flowers.jpg

I think im forgetting the purple and doing, Cranberry, a greenish, Burnt orange and Light Orange. Like the colors of this bouquet. Is that too much? or not enough? should I add chocolate to the scheme?

call me an airhead I didn't even know what those flowers were until you posted a picture!! they are beautiful I could probably incorporate those into the BM bouquets

Hi Nani,

(Doodle, thank you very much for the compliment

)

The outside of your venue is very modern, and I assume when you say that the pics are outdated I assume you mean the pics of the ceremony sites. I love the last color combo and flowers you have going. I have some pics that I''ve been saving for just that color combo. Let me get them and post them for you.

Here''s a great thread for flower inspirations: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/flowers-flowers-and-more-flowers-show-us-yours.97894/page-3

Also projectwedding.com is great for pics of flowers. As is the knot.

Okay this one is a "true" fall arrangement. Just screams fall. And personnaly I love it. But I think it''s too traditional for your venue (I just wanted to post it). I love the use of the unique greens in this, though. It would translate well (in terms of the flowers and the colors) to your high arrangement ideas (which are lovely).

I can't seem to find the pics I wanted to post for you. Sorry.

Here's an alternate idea for you, if you don't want to do 'typical' fall. light Yellow red and green. Personally, as you are in FL and it's not going to be cold... I think this would be an amazing combo for you. It would look great with the BM dresses too. you could replace those orange tulips with orange callas, if you wanted to and if your florist can't get the tulips at that time of year (which is likely).

Personally, it's fall without being 'too' fall and it's beautiful. It would also really pop with your venue. And it's unique and original.

Here's one of my favorite fall but not too fall combos.

Light orange (apricot) and chocolate (chocolate cosmos). Chocolate BM dresses to make the flowers really pop.

More yellows. Reds and yellows. So lovely, and unique. I love the ombre ribbon on the stems too.

Another option... this one has chocolates in it as well.
