I was wondering if anyone has eiether of these phones and how they are. I am looking to get a new phone and txt more then I talk. I also want something that has a good web browser (need PS while slow at work LOL). Can anyone help me out? Pros and Cons to either of these phones? thanks
I have the Palm Centro and so does DH. We both LOVE IT!!!
I''m not sure how it compares to the Blackberry Curve, but I can tell you this: my very techno-loving little brother has the Curve and he covets my Centro!
I have the curve...it is great for texting, good reception. I don''t really care for the little rollerball on the blackberrys because I find that they wear down overtime (esp if you play the games), but overall it is a great phone.
My SO has the BB Curve and I have the Pearl... I love his curve way more because it has a full keyboard and I am able to text way faster with his....I''ve never dealt with a Palm OS so I couldn''t tell you wheither the palm was better or not...
Hubby has the Curve, and he over-researches everything before he buys it.
He says hands down go for Blackberry, Palm is "old news".
If you want an awesome web browser, definitely go for the iPhone, but of the two you''re thinking of, the Curve is the better choice. Great for texting, good for browsing, small, easy to use, great camera, great features.
I personally don''t have one, I like my old school flip phone. But hubby is happy with is Blackberry.
My first BB was a Pearl and I quickly ended up trading it for a Curve, and I could not be happier. For me the keyboard on the Curve is more user-friendly than the Pearl. The Curve is a great little phone and really comes in handy if you text a lot or need to send and receive a lot of e-mails. If it means anything, two friends of mine had Palms and have recently traded them for Blackberries.
ETA: The web browser on the iPhone is probably better than the standard BB browser. However you can download the Opera software on a BB to get a better browser.
Well, I actually support smartphones and PDAs at my job...
The BlackBerry Curve is nice, but as someone else in the thread said, there is a known issue with the trackball. I get phone calls all the time about how the trackball just stops working or isn''t as responsive as it use to be. Unfortunately, once the trackball starts acting funny, it''s a little difficult to navigate the phone and you''ll likely have to get it replaced. Otherwise, it is a great phone. As for the Palm Centro, the biggest complaint I get about them is that the keyboard is a little cramped and the keys are hard. But most like it for the touchscreen and the fun games and software you can download to it. Both are great as far as functionality goes (meaning, they both get the job done), but ultimately, from the pros and cons listed on this thread, you''ll have to figure out what you''re willing to put up with.
Hope that helps...
