Hi guys,

I have choosen a diamond which is 0.50carat in size, round brillant.
now pondering over the setting.. whether a 4 prongs or 6 prongs...
some people told 4 prongs allow more light, but may look square-ish..
while others say that six prongs more secure..

I have seen before those sample in whiteflash and blue nile.
They samples shows setting in 1 carat which may not be a good comparison for 0.5c which is smaller one..
I was thinking since they are more ppl who had bought their diamond here..

Can you show me a few of your 0.5c diamond in classic Solitaire setting for my reference?

Thanks alot.

Redno, I''ve heard the same things about how 4 prong makes rounds look more square but allow more light while 6 prong is more secure.

In my eyes anyway, the 4 prong doesn''t make it look non-round but does emphasize the diamond more because there''s less metal around it - I think that''s a big plus for a 0.5ct.

There was a whole thread on ''under 1 ct rings'' https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/under-1ct-diamonds.25028/
