Hi everyone, I finally purchased my center stone from WF. I went through a detailed process to select the stone and had amazing assistance along the way. Upon completing the ring and proposing, I will be posting a very long summary of the process for everyone''s benefit.

Now I am at the stage of selecting a setting, and I really love the Tiffany setting with the channel side diamonds (which they call the "Solitaire with Diamond Band"). I have seen several other channel-style settings that I really did not care for, but this one really jumped out at me.

I was hoping to have MM create the setting and put his own unique touch on it due to the amazing beauty of all the rings I''ve seen done by him in the past. I was actually lucky enough to see one of his solitaire settings in person and loved it. However, I am having issues communicating with Mark and his assistant, so I''ve decided to consider other possible setting creator. Although my proposal date is over a month away, I''ve had over a month now with no progress, so I am getting very nervous that even with this timeframe the ring may not be available in time (and I am flying out of country to propose!)

I am curious whether anyone knows of someone similar to Mark who may be able to create a custom setting that would have the same ''wow effect''? Or should I just wait for Mark?

Thanks, I will touch base with Quest next week! Any other suggestions?

If you''re wanting to do something custom, i''d also suggest Quest. They do a fabulous job.

Tiffany setting with the channel side diamonds ...

THIS looks like a pretty convincing sample of that style. In fact, the original is not nearly as nice, IMO. You might want to give it a try.

My 2c

Well, IMHO some of the rings that have been coming out of WF lately have been extraordinarily lovely! One in particular looked so smooth, fluid and shiny that I actually stated in the thread something like, "move over Mark Morrell!" I''ll try to find the thread.

I don''t think there is anything out there that looks as good as a Mark Morrell. What do you mean by "communication issues"?

I have heard a few other stories of him being difficult to get ahold of for some reason
