, leaving on Friday (have to be at the airport at 4:30am

) for Whistler Blackcomb in Canada. Just wanted to know if anyone''s been up there, and if you have - any good restaurants/places to visit/things to make SURE we do while there?

We''re gonna be there 7 nights, staying in Creekside, but plan to explore everywhere. We''re already planning to visit the Olympic venues there (not the Olympic Park that''s 15 minutes away, just the ones there on the mountain). Besides that we just have snowboarding and exploring planned. We''d like to go ahead and make some dinner reservations before we leave.

Yes, it''s AWESOME!!! I was there in 2001, though, so I don''t really remeber specific places to visit. You will love it though!

Hi,

We went to whistler a few years back and had a lot of fun. One thing to keep in mind is that all of the town is covered in ice and is WET. I wore snow boots the entire time, even when eating out, because none of the paths in the center of town are iced or shoveled, so they were VERY slick.

If you can buy a cooler in the city and fill it w/food before driving out, you''ll have a better selection of snacks and items. There was very little food in the little grocery store there!

I went with my DH, his sister and two kids, so we mostly ate at local pubs, so I don''t have any resturant recommendations (sorry), but just one tip if you''re driving from Vancouver, is bring a spare tire. We got a flat half way up there and luckily we has a sturdy spare or we would have been stuck!

Have fun!

You''ll have plenty to do. Who couldn''t love Whistler!! You''ll be booking your next trip there, as soon as you get back home!! Have fun!!

I haven''t, but I just heard about it from the in-laws for the first time a few days ago - they''re trying to sell us on that for our holidays with them next year (it''s between that and Hawaii - family in both places). It sounds AMAZING. I hope you post about your trip with pics!

LTS - What a great trip! Enjoy your vacation! It beautiful up there.

I live in Vancouver and go to Whistler every now and then but don''t have any particular recommendations. ... I found this website that might be helpful if you are interested ...

Thanks for the advice MC! Yeah FI has been there once but he said it was a really good season for snow. Unfortunately this season is not as good - the conditions are a lot worse for avalanches and there''s a lot of rain, not so much powder. But all I''m taking is my snow boots and snowboard boots haha.

We''re taking a shuttle from YVR, so no choices but to use the marketplace there and eat out, but we''re pretty scrappy so I think we''ll make do.

We definitely would have brought food otherwise. Hehe and hopefully the shuttle group has spare tires!

Yeah musey it sounds like a place we''re gonna have a lot of fun!! Haha snow vs. hawaiian island - 2 very different choices!! I''ll definitely let you know how it is!

What forum would I post pictures from my trip under? This one?

I AM SO JEALOUS!

We went to Whistler two years ago and it was magical.

I can't remember the restaurants, but here's a top 10:

The food there is amazing... I feel like maybe it just tasted amazing because all the skiing... made us ravenous!

Do take lots of pics to share with us!
