Hello!

I was originally going to get married in Key West, but due to some unexpected things we have to find somewhere else. I was thinking Islamorada or Marathon or Key Largo? Has anyone been to a beautiful resort and/or Catholic church that you could suggest? This would be for a wedding for about 125-150 people.

Any thoughts? Thanks

hi isabel -

i got married in Islamorada in March, at at place called the Caribbean Resort at Sea Isle. I liked the place a lot - it was gorgeous - but I might seek out a different caterer if i did it over again. This place is more of a private rental property than a full-service hotel.

Here are a couple of threads with pics:

I looked at a ton of places in key largo and islamorada, so i can probably help you (no churches, though - we got married at our venue). What''s your price range, desired setting, formality level, etc? Cheeca Lodge is beautiful and very very pricey. I almost ended up at the Mariner''s Club in Key Largo, but their wedding coordinator had just quit and the place was sort of chaotic. They might be settled down by now, though. I looked at the Marriott Key Largo Bay and was unimpressed. Pierre''s/Morada Bay are STUNNING, but their site fees for a Saturday night wedding are $12,000 to $16,000 - more than I was willing to pay just for the site.

Anyway, just let me know if you have any questions or would like more info about anything. Hope that helps!
