Any same day diamond setters in NY?

I might be going to New York soon, and wondered if there were any places that I could possibly walk in, find a mount for my diamond and have it set right there and then, the same day? If anyone knows, please fill me in? Thanks so much!

I''d say it''s unlikely. The mount would have to already be in your size and be able to hold a stone your size. You might have better success choosing a mounting ahead of time and having them order it and set your stone once you get there. I wouldn''t advice this, but it might be more doable. I a huge advocate of letting designers set stones into their own settings (assuming you''d choose a designer ring) rather than a local jeweler.

Alright, are there any jewelers in NY, that I can order a mount from (perhaps online), and then have it set when I am there? My hurry is....that I am tired of my setting, and since nobody around here will custom make or supply a mount and set my diamond...I thought NY is full of great jewelry stores I''m sure....and surely SOMEONE wants my business? If I''m there, I thought I could have that done, and come home with a new ring. I refuse to ship my stone anywhere, and would prefer watching it be done right there and then! Thanks again

I''m not in NY and don''t know how common it would be. But Mark T of engagementringsdirect.com is there and might have a setting he can order in and have ready to set for you. Check with Goodoldgold as well. they are about 45min or so I think outside of NY city and might be able to do it for you as well. Those are the only two I''d trust to attempt it in that area, IF they will even do it. Maybe some NY locals will chime in with some other suggestions for you.

beau, Goodoldgold (Long Island) And Engagementringsdirect are both in NY. I''d look at their settings/give them a call. Explain the situation and see what they say.
