Hi all,
I'm a noob to ALL of this and was looking for some input. I tried to look at proportions, angles, cut, etc.
I plan to propose within a year and am excited.

Here is the
GIA report: 2256347733

with attached photos,
All this symmetry, hearts and arrows.. I can't tell if this diamond is the one.

Well, it is by no means a bad diamond, in the world of D/FL it is probably good, but the cut is not ideal. Is there a reason you want to stay at D FL? On PS, you will hear that cut is the most important and to the naked eye a D FL will look just the same as E VS1 yet the price difference and the pool of choices are vastly different. What is the budget for this purchase?

Hi thanks,

Planning on around 15-20k.
What about the cut for this one isn't ideal?

I think the cut is fine. In fact, in the world of D/FL and from virtual inventory (which I assume), it does not get any better than this.

For those if used to super ideal levels of optical symmetry, this stone will not cut it. BUT... as flyingpig has said, this is not that bad in the world of D/FL's where they are more than likely cut for weight retention rather than beauty.

Thanks everyone! Any extra input on what kind of proportions/angles/etc I should be looking for, for a high quality diamond?
Or if you've seen some online that I could use as examples?
