So I bought a princess stone with trillions. I like it but feel the actual stone is not raised enought. Looks flat, not like some rings I see where it looks like you can literally bite off the stone. The dealer told me that since it has trillions on teh sides, you cant raise it higher. Otherwise, it wont match the side stones. Anyone go through this?

it sounds like it may have a very low crown height if it is flat looking. do you have a picture you could share?

GW86, your question is confusing. Are you talking about the princess being set low or the brilliance of the princess (or side trillions)? I don''t understand at all. Also, what do you mean by being able to "bite off the stone?" It seems that you mean that other stones seem to be set higher, where you could "bite" it off, but your stone is set low, so you wouldn''t be able to "bite" it. Is this what you mean? I think Belle was thinking that you were talking about the brilliance of the stone....that it looked "flat"....as in, no fire or sparkle.

No, not the brilliance. I meant the actual diamond looks flat, like the setting isn''t raised enough. I see a lot of rings where it looks like you can actually grab the diamond because its set so high. I think its just the way princess rings appear.
