Any experiences with GCI labs for coloured gem?

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could chime in on their experiences with GCI labs for rubies in particular.

They do not seem to have a large presence on the internet and I'm trying to understand if their reports are worth anything.

I understand the preference is GIA for most gems, but I am unable to get a certification in my time frame.

I think some labs offer rush-jobs with 48hour services. If you have a valuable ruby it might be worth it.

AGL (New York City), SSEF and Gueblin (European labs) are also reputable labs for rubies.

SEFF and Guebelin are actually Swiss, so you can't simply ship there without tax problems. But IGI is in belgium: http://www.igiworldwide.com/

In the end I decided a cert is better than no cert and got one from GCI labs.

It is not terribly informative, as expected. FYI, I am talking about GCI Israel.
