That you get your SO to do it?
I have never been a green thumb- I killed a cactus!!! So my DH does the gardening.
I have never been a fan of cleaning the bathrooms/toilet. He cleans it so much better that I tell him he is better at it than me, and why waste my time when he has to redo it anyway!
I hate cleaning bathtubs- as by the time I am done, my back goes out!

On the flip side- I don't mind ironing, laundry or changing linen. He is however better at making the bed look awesome! I don't have the knack/ finesse of putting the pillows in the right spots or stretch the quilt over the bed right. He makes the bed look more showroom, whereas I make it look made!

Yeah. DH kills all the bugs. I get the creeps & screech. Bugs don't bother him, so he either aces them or escorts them out the door if they deserve saving -- totally his call (except Southern cockroaches which ALWAYS get the ax).

I hate to iron but haven't figured out how to Tom Sawyer him into doing it yet. :saint:

Likes
Vacuuming, mopping and laundry - mindless task
Wiping counter tops and wood - love to see the sheen and spotless shine

Dislikes
Cleaning bathrooms/toilet as it kills my back
Ironing - an accidental crease I created bothers me to no end
Cooking - I dislike any form of cooking and baking

I don't mind gardening as long as the sun isn't too strong. As you can probably tell, I do the stuff I don't mind (not that I necessarily like or enjoy doing) whilst my other half does the tasks I dislike.

Really dislikes cleaning toilets :wavey: but does it anyway :wink2: .

I don't wash dishes, or clean the cat box, or feed the lizard, or put away laundry, or take out trash, or carry super heavy things into out apartment. That all belongs to DH :D

I hate vacuuming. We have someone that comes to clean every 2 weeks so neither of us need to do it a ton, but when it needs to be done (like right before company comes over), DH almost always does it.

He hates folding laundry so I usually do that. It's a mindless task you can do while watching TV like someone else said. I think it's a lot easier than lugging a giant, heavy, loud sucking machine across the house!

I do 99.9% of housework, including all food shopping, and all the maintenance and all of the house cleaning.
He watches TV, and washes his own clothing.
I wash joint laundry, like linnens, towels.

I've tried working on him and there is no hope.
It's accept him or dump him.
I'm far from perfect and I'd say I'm getting the long end of the stick.

My SO like shopping for clothes so he buys all of mine.

Yep. I have learned that I can spend time and energy being mad, or I can just do it and enjoy a clean house. DH is one of those "let's relax now and clean later" people. I have a hard time relaxing in a messy house. Sometimes he will offer to do the dishes "in the morning" and there's about a 50/50 chance of them actually getting done. So it's easier if I just do them.

DH pretends to be inept at all household tasks. Cleaning makes me angry. After many fights, we hired a cleaning lady who also does laundry. I do the rest but DH takes out the garbage and kills bugs.

It took me a while to relate this back to vacuuming!

I don't do like to do anything related to cleaning the house. That is dh and the cleaning lady's department. I cook, I do laundry and I grocery shop. Even before I had dh or a cleaning lady, I'd only date guys who enjoyed cleaning up after my messes.

You are a genius.

Dusting the lights and cabinets. I hate doing it so I always ask him to do it.
Also the laundry. I am usually the one who puts puts it away.

Both of us like to clean. I can't remember ever having an issue over household chores/division of labor. It's our house and our stuff; we take care of it together. Oh, I actually dislike grocery shopping, so I make a list and he picks up whatever's on it, if that counts.

Kenny- We have the same life! I end up having to do all of the cleaning, cooking, and maintenance etc. I recently put my foot down and we're sitting the cost for a housekeeper LOL.

The only domestic job I like is cooking but apart from that I don't like any of them. But I really hate vacuuming and doing the dishes, so my FI does all that for me (if he wants to eat).

+1 but my husband tricked me. He used to clean while we were dating

Exactly! I am the same. Funny story. A few weeks a go, I was in a Target with my younger son, age 8. We walked past several aisles and I stopped to browse some clearance stuff on an end cap. My son notices that a nearby aisle is full of vacuums. He comments quite loudly, "Look Mom! An aisle for cleaning ladies!". :-) It occurred to me that I should use a vacuum occasionally so he understands that it is not just for use by cleaning ladies. Hasn't happened yet. ;-)

I like cooking and cleaning up the kitchen afterwards. Also doing laundry. I like making the bed and all the non-messy chores to keep the household going such as paying bills and grocery shopping.

I hate deep cleaning and mopping floors. I put it off until it gets critical. I dislike vacuuming, maybe a throwback from when we used to have cats and dogs - they HATED the vacuum cleaner. I guess you can tell by this that I have some dirty floors, dust bunnies and dust. People tell me my house looks good but I sometimes think it is an embarrassing example of clutter and sub-standard housekeeping.

DH does the deep cleaning.

I don't much care for loading/unloading the dishwasher and although I don't mind washing, drying, and folding clothes, for some reason, I hate putting them away. I have my house professionally cleaned once a week, so most of my house-cleaning involves putting stuff away after it has migrated from room-to-room. I also dust and vacuum with my cordless vacuum in between my cleaning service, but I usually don't mind doing those things.

I no longer like any of it :cheeky: ...life is so crazy that I find myself trying to fit things in when I have 10 minutes here and 10 minutes there. Back when life was simple (2 careers, no kids), DH and I would clean the house together (I taught him how I liked it done) and we chatted while we did it. Same with cooking...I'd cook while we chatted over a glass of wine. These days, we barely have time for a family meal (which breaks my heart as we did that every night til DS started competitive travel baseball when he turned 9 a few months ago)...so I no longer enjoy ANY household chores, as I always feel I'm cutting corners and things are never done properly.

However, to this day, the two things that DH does when he's in town (which isn't often) is taking out the garbage and emptying the dishwasher. For some reason, I really don't like either of those chores.

DC59...I love it. It's lightweight and sucks up all the cat hair/litter and dust. Highly recommend if you hate vacuuming. It's easy now. And it's cordless too which is a huge plus for me because I hate plugging and unplugging the vacuum all over the house.

I usually do the vacuuming in between the cleaning crew visits. I don't mind vacuuming with this vacuum. It's easy. My dh does the laundry and folding in our NY co-op because the washing machines/dryers are in the basement of our building but I do the laundry at our beach house because it's on the same floor as the bedrooms. I don't like basements and I don't like communal laundry areas lol.

We both load and unload the dishwasher. I make the coffee every day and he does most of the cooking/baking. I make salads though. And they are damn good. :cheeky: And since he is more of a clean/neat freak than me he does most of the in between cleaning except for vacuuming. He also does the ironing (I just cannot iron but I do use a steamer occasionally). Most of my clothes do not need ironing. We do the grocery shopping together.

And he most definitely does the bug killing.

I kill bugs, buy groceries, and do laundry. My husband does everything else. I don't think I've ever done dishes since we got married. I hate cooking, but I have to cook when I want to eat the food I grew up with. I think I'm very lucky that he cleans and cooks.

I don't really like any of them. I only do them because I do like the feel of a clean house and when I have hired people they do it okay for he first few weeks and then kind of slack off. Then I am ticked that I am paying for it and am not completely happy with how it is done.

When my husband retires in a couple years he will 'get' to do a lot of it. He doesn't know that yet, but I want to retire too.

The only chore I hate is cleaning the toilets. My 15 year old son does them for me. He's a good boy.
