Particularly, point out if there is anything that jumps out at you that I should worry about. I am still in the learning stage and all of these seem to idicate some value when comparing the price to other stones of similar size. Just wondering if I am missing anything or what I may not be considering.

Thanks again everyone. It''s a lot of info to digest but I must admit I am having fun!

Hi lh,

The first has a very thin girdle, not so good. Could chip more easily.

Second one has much potential, no glaring problems!

Third one is facing up a bit small, the girdle has a bit much variation, but most of all, not good crown and pavillion angles.

I''d ask for an IS and Sarin on the second one, looks good so far.

Thanks for looking.

What is meant by "facing up a bit small"? What should you look for in crown and pav angles?

facing up small usually means that for that carat size it is a smaller diameter (size) than would be expected from a well cut diamond, so you are paying for carat weight that you won't see in size.

ETA: I believe this is usually due to the carat weight being hidden by a deeper stone

Thanks for the info. Is there a method you use when determining what the diameter should be based on carat?

Also, in the second stone if you look at the magnified image you can see a fairly large inclusion both at 8x and 16x. Do you think this is large enough to be seen without magnification?

Number 1, ex thin to thin girdle scares me...

Number 2, specs look awesome. I would ask about the nature of the inclusion and how eye-clean this stone is from 2 inches, 6 inches, 12 inches...

Number 3, pavillion angle is off and the images aren''t great.

Out of the three, I''d go for number 2 if it''s eye-clean or really close. Beautiful stone!

If it''s not eye-clean, I''d keep trying. You can easily drop down to an H if you need to.
