Any Carved Gemstones?

I would like to see what other PSers have for carved gemstones. These are moonstones, rose quartzs, aventurines, and amazonites. The colour is slightly brighter in the photos.

Those are so pretty! Once I realised what they were.. at first they looked like little carved brains and wondered why people wanted to carve brains. Then I realised it was flowers and was very impressed.

I love carved stones! I have just a few I think. 2 aquamarine statement pieces, and some earrings with carved quartz over abalone. And, some carved spess cabs. I used to have a great carved labradorite ring, but I lost it. They have a wonderful, unique and personal spirit which is just fabulous and rewarding while wearing.

First, carved aqua horse pendant with carving on the underside of the cab. In dim light and in bright light.



Next, carved aqua brooch often worn as a pendant. Kinda reminds me of a solar event, like an eclipse. Love this piece.


Carved earrings.

Will get the carved spessartites out. I may have more carved pieces, not including carved jadeite. I’ll have to think.....

Actually, I’ve ALWAYS wanted a beautiful, finely carved blue moonstone with the face of the moon on it to make into a ring or pendant. Haven’t found any that are carved finely enough yet though....

Here are the 2 carved spess cabs. They were hard to capture so the pic is a little blurry and doesn’t capture the color very well. They have a flower pattern carved in each one. Originally thought of these for studs.

Thanks for sharing. The last photo reminds me a pendent made of abalone shell that I have bought in New Zealand.

That is super pretty, the amethyst colour looks a bit unusual (said in a good way even though I'm not a big fan of magenta and pinks in general )

In real life the violets are deep purple. The lighting is a bit off in the picture.

Sadly there is no sunshine in my area today, but I changed the lighting and background and added the coordinating earrings

@Bluegemz , I just read in this morning's obituaries that Steve Attaway passed away Feb. 28.
It doesn't say what happened to him. So Sad!

The brooch and the earrings are not a set. I found the earrings several years later and thought they were a close enough match.

The brooch is vintage from the 1950s.

I don't have one but this thread reminded me of the most beautiful carved ametrine pendant. Really a work of art.
