Oops...I accidentally posted in LIW first, but here it goes again.

Long story short, the boyfriend and I are thinking about going to L.A. next week, and he said if we made it out there, I could check out Single Stone. He knows I''ve been dying to go. Does anyone have any other suggestions for jewelers near by that might carry a similar (style) inventory? I love antique stones (antique cushions, OMC''s, OEC''s, etc.), and antique style rings. "Reasonably" priced, and a decent sized inventory? Thanks!

There's always Neil Lane

, but they are out of almost everyone's price range!

I have also heard decent things about Lany's but they in Pasadena.

ETA: The Sherman Oaks Antique mall is fun too, but I don't remember if there are a lot of ering type things there or just antique jewelry in general...

Thanks for the suggestions!

And my apologies about posting in 2 different forums...I didn''t realize my mistake until after the fact. I went ahead and hit the "report concern" button, so hopefully it''ll be corrected soon...

No worries! It just gets confusing because then people answer both threads and repeat advice, etc.

I''ve been to a place on 3rd by the Beverly Center called KFK jewels. they have a decent selection of vintage stuff (they made Alanis Morrisette''s ring when she was engaged to Ryan Reynolds). However, their website is down. For settings, there is a place across the street from Single Stone in DT LA called Princess jewels (?) and they''ve got a ton of antique style settings. Actually, their selection is better online than in the store. Also, I haven''t been to the Single Stone store in San Marino but I found that the DT store was just okay in terms of selection. Another great place just to look, not to buy is Phiilip Press on Sunset. If I think of anything else, I''ll let you know. Just wandering around the jewelry district is fun....

Thanks for all of the suggestions so far! My two main desires are to find a fabulous antique stone, and to get the most bang for my buck. Any advice from Pricescopers is always most appreciated.

Haven''t been there in a while but try Nobel on 4th Street in Santa Monica (parallel to the Promenade). They have had a lot of true vintage (not reproductions) in the past.

Philip Press has some beautiful stuff, too. Pretty reasonable. he had a storefront on the Westside, on Sunset ( I think. I haven''t set foot in there since 2004. Wow, time flies)
