Hello. This is my first time posting, so please bare with me. I just purchased a 1.18 ct., I color, VS1, Excellent cut (GIA Cert) stone from Whiteflash. My gf wants an antique ring and I came across antiqueengagementrings.com. This is going to be a surprise so I cannot really ask her opinion so I wanted to get some people on this message board. This is the setting I am thinking about.

It''s the Replica Edwardian Engagement Ring Mounting - Stock Number:L1191pl (midway down the page)

I wanted something with an antique look but with a modern touch.

Do you like/dislike? Are there any other sites where I can look at antique like settings?

I like that one also...I like the first one better but I see it wont hold your size diamond. There are a lot of
folks on PS that like/have vintage settings. I'm sure they can point you too some more websites.

Have you checked this site?

Faye Cullen is not a strong recommendation. Her return policy is awful. She''s had some fairly mixed reviews, so do a search on her first before you decide.

Antiqueengagementrings are nice, but I believe some have said that their finishing is a bit rough.

You might like something from Beverly K (antique style repro), or SingleStone (pricey but very good quality).

I bought a setting (though not that one) from that company. The people were really nice, and it''s very pretty, but the craftsmanship is only medium quality. Not bad, but not top-notch either. The settings are cast rather than hand-detailed, and they''re quite light (or, if you prefer, delicate). If I were given it as an engagement ring, I might be a little disappointed.

I like that setting a lot! It has the antique flavor with the engraving on the sides, but not too much (to overwhelm the diamond). I think it''s really lovely.

Singlestone is a favorite on here.

Has your GF shown you any pics of rings she might like? Does she want an antique-antique ring or an antique-style new setting?
