Hello
I am seeking advice on what to look for in an antique red spinel engagement ring. I found a ring today that had a red spinel stone in the center with three small diamonds on each side set in platinum. The ring was listed as being $1,500. Judging from what I had heard about the increasing price of red spinels, is the price too good to be true? I would much prefer a custom designed ring, but my curiousity has made me just look around. Can anyone offer advice to me in the antique or estate ring buying realm? Also, would it be safe to buy a ring from a jewelry/consignment shop? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
