Our family is headed to Italy in a few weeks, and I wondered if anyone had any must-have places I could find a gem of a bargain (see what I did there?!?) or keepsake. Unfortunately, I'm allergic to gold, so the iconic neighborhoods that sell it won't be a great fit for me. Is it worth looking for something in platinum in the country, or should I just enjoy the wine and stick with leather?

probably wine and leather! You don't say where in Italy you are going, and I'm sure you can find platinum there, but I don't think that is what Italian jewelry is generally known for, although I've never looked for antique pieces there. Maybe one of the PS'er in Italy can help you more than I can...

We’ll be in Rome, all over southern Tuscany and the Amalfi Coast. I mean, there are worse things than wine and leather, right?!?

And don't forget about the FOOD!

Bernardo Antichità on Ponte Vecchio and Daniel Grays (a couple of different locations) in Florence have beautiful antique jewels. Don't expect to find any bargains though since so many tourists pass through! I would love to know other places so curious if others will chime in bc I'll be working there this summer.

Thank you! We'll be in Florence so that's great.

Google Risivi Gioielli in Rome on Via dei Pettinari. It’s an antique jewelery store with many more on that street. I can’t speak to price since I just window shopped, but pinned it as a reference point.

Great, thanks @seeeca! Just pinned it.
