Antique heavy chain with penknife attached.

Hi all. Dont know if this is the way to go about asking for help so I apologise before hand if not. I have found a very interesting solid heavy chain with penknife attached to it. The penknife markings are 9 .375 a S&P and the chain 901 with 56 stamped on links. Can anybody help me with this please? Thank you
