First off I''d like to say that I''ve been a long time lurker and have been meaning to post my engagement ring since I got it back in February. However, being a student I''ve finally gotten around to it now that the semester is done! The ring comes from the Jewel of Orleans shop in Disneyland. I had been drooling over it for months and was always worried someone would buy it. Luckily it stayed there so that the fiance could get when the time was right. The proposal took place at night on the beach in San Diego.

So, some specs on the ring:

Dates from around 1915-1940

Center diamond
old european cut
approx. 1.08 ct
color J-K
...can''t remember the clarity w/o getting the paperwork out but I think it''s VS2

Side diamonds
swiss cut
approx. .25 tcw
color J-K
think they are SI2

The top part is platinum with the bottom being yellow gold (pics below). Despite it''s imperfections it''s such a fireball which is why I wanted a vintage ring to begin with. I adore it!

ooo, didn''t think my picture was going to turn out that big, sorry! The following ones should be smaller. Here is a profile on my hand, hopefully you can see the transition from platinum to gold.

Wow, I just re-read your post- I have never seen that shop! Is it in Orleans square? A friend who runs the little spot there where they draw your picture, told me
that Disneyland was getting rid of all the shops that didnt sell disney merchandise. How did I miss it? Now I have to go and see what pretties they have!

It''s beautiful!

Oh, that is so pretty...just think who might have worn it way back then? The more I see of the oec and omc
the more I like them.

I love your ring, is really pretty and elegant

BTW - I'm not a know it all (really) but I think your ring would be considered vintage (and not antique).

Antiques - according to the defs I looked up have to be 100+ years old

this is what I found for vintage (and like very much)
vintage - Characterized by excellence, maturity, and enduring appeal; classic (I like to think of myself as
vintage

Edit - if I am wrong please let me know (I'm sure you fine PSers will!
