Stracci your craftswomanship is so good!!!!!!

Is this silver? Could you do the same with gold?
Thank you! Yes, it is sterling silver. I am not well versed in gold, as it is so cost prohibitive!

What a lovely result! Nice to see a pendant this time too (though rings are still my fave)!!
Thanks! Even though it has a good backing, this particular stone is wafer thin, so I thought it would be better suited to a pendant.

You can always back your turq with devon! It's super easy and gives you some nice height to work with. Here's some natural, untreated golden hill (periwinkle!) turq I cut from a nodule into a pendant and ring stone. These would have never set flush without it, or would have had to be cut super thin. You don't see it when set (unless you have an open back piece, which I dislike anyway.

OMG.... that color! Golden Hill is so scrumptious! And these pieces are superb!
I've heard of Devcon, and I've seen some videos of people backing turquoise with JB Weld. I mean to buy some next time I'm in the hardware store.

Let me know how you do with the JB Weld! I have a tan two-part epoxy gun from them that I use to back stones with lighter-colored matrix. You can tint them too, if you really want to get fancy. Be sure to wear a respirator when you cut/polish the plastic steel/resin!

Golden hill is a favorite... always untreated and super hard material, so it takes a fantastic polished. Here is a piece from Artie Yellowhorse. It's about 3.5" tall (including bail). :knockout:

Nothing quite like making your own treasure though, I imagine. I took a soldering class at RISD years ago, and would really like to brush up on it some day!!

I got my soldering class from a lovely woman from Zuni Pueblo. I bet she would be surprised that 18 years later, I'm still at it!

So Beautiful! :appl::kiss2: I really love the slight asymmetry of the silver work around the outside of the stone.

Thanks! I wanted a loose, casual feel for this piece, so I kinda made it up as I went along.
I surprise myself sometimes!
