One more question (although I see I''m not going to get much assistance on my first one
8.gif
. I found a princess with a length/width of 1.6. I''m wondering if the rectangular look of the stone is even that noticeable, and if so, whether the setting will make it less noticeable. I guess I am hesitant to buy a rectangular stone when I''ve never seen one, or at least I don''t believe I have seen one. Thanks !

Personally, I think a rectangular princess definitely looks rectangular. Years before I joined PS, an old coworker actually had a princess cut that I thought was an emerald cut because it was so rectangular! I''m getting a princess cut diamond and I chose the one that was square looking. However, the sales person made an interesting point to me about rectangular princess cuts. They do look slightly larger. However, it''s truly a matter of personal taste. Let us know what you choose!

I actually received a response from my other question below indicating that you may be able to help me find a princess cut stone around 1.4-1.5 carats. The person responding told me you just bought one that you loved. Can you tell me more about it, ie where you purchased the diamond, what the basic specs are, etc.
Thanks

I am confused the stone that you list is nearly perfectly square @6.33 x 6.32. The ratio is 1 to 1.00158 when the allowable variance is 1 to 1.05. This variance would not be at all visible to the naked eye.

Wink

I''m confused...that stone isn''t rectangular, it has a ratio of 1.00...or were you discussing another stone?

Sorry, you two are right--I posted the wrong diamond specs. This is the rectangular diamond:
