Another question about insurance!

Okay, I know that there have been many posts about insurance and I''ve read tons of them. I just wanted to get some opinions. I live in Europe but will be home over Christmas and will be getting a lovely ring!

The question is: How soon did you run out and get insurance for your ring?

I am going to be in the states for about a month and will be in NYC for a few days and in and out of several airports. This may sound silly...but I have NEVER worn so much money on my finger...or any other part of me for that matter!! I think I will be absolutely freaking out about damage, loss, theft....ahh!

Does this sound safe? Or should getting insurance be a very immediate priority? I''m just wondering if it will be possible to get insurance in the states that will cover me internationaly as I live out of the country.

Whether they cover you outside the states is determined by the individual insurance company. Also, make sure you ask them how they will handle the claim if you have a loss. Is mysterious disappearance covered? Ask lots of questions, insurance companies are all different.
