Hi folks, just joined on after trolling for a few weeks. Looking for a stone for an engagement ring and have a few I am considering from two sites.
Union Diamond sent me information on this one

It is a 1.58 carat, D color SI1 (eye-clean face up with only two small inclusions seen under the loop according to the email. My biggest concern with all of these diamonds is cute and although it is a Select Ideal cut, I went ahead and put the dimensions into the HCA and it came to a TIC 1.1.
To me it seems like the perfect diamond to suite my purpose, I am getting a quoted price $1100 down from msrp for going through pricescope and wire transfer.
Two other stones I found were beautiful were available through WhiteFlash.
One is a ACA stone which is TIC 1.4

It is a 1.58, F, SI1. My understand is the hearts and arrows are neat, but don''t necessarily make for a better looking stone.
Another is an E stone which is also TIC 1.4

It is a 1.51, D, SI1.
The discount for both of these is not as great as with union diamond and would cost ~$800-1000 more than the first diamond. My question is does the Union Diamond sound like a better deal? Is H&A really worth it if I only care about the look? Also, I really want to get a halo setting with platinum (although trying to decide on which alloy mix) so I want to be able to stay within a budget of $15000 total. The WF diamonds would have me stretching, but I am willing to pay a little more for quality (just doesn''t seem as if they are much better than the Union Diamond one).
The kicker is that I have a friend who can go visually see the stones at White Flash, but have no one who can do that for me with Union Diamond. Sorry for the crazy long post , but anyone have any thoughts? Thanks.
