There is an article in the Washington Post stating The Trump administration may make a ruling as early as Friday that will limit the ACA mandate on contraceptives coverage. This could mean hundreds of thousands of women will no longer have access to contraceptives (birth control pills) free of charge. It means a larger group of employers and insurance companies could exempt themselves from covering birth control pills for moral and religious reasons.

Just another way for the Republicans to be a&&holes to women. Lets be honest, this move will affect poor women the most.

Funny you don't hear the Trump administration saying they won't cover Viagra.

I think it is disgusting that in this day & age, some women in the world do not have the choice over contraception, or abortion for that matter. It makes my blood boil more than most things. Perhaps all these women should refuse to have sex anymore, and then see what happens! These decisions (probably made by men) would soon be changed :angryfire:

Women should set fire to the labs that make Viagra or boycott having sex until some of their rights are restored. These sleazy old and young men think it's fine to have mistresses and force women into abortions but they are out their campaigning on pro life platforms, the hypocrisy of many of them IRL gives me the s@#*s......

@Alex T and @arkieb1 Of course this decision was made by men. His whole cabinet is full of old white men. I agree with you about women refusing to have sex but unfortunately that would not change a thing in this country. 52% of white woman voted for Trump. I seriously doubt they would quit having sex for a cause to help poor women. Trumps administration is in charge.

A Republican Representative just resigned the other day because his young mistress told the world he wanted her to have an abortion after repeatedly publicly saying he was against them. The hypocrisy with these people in insane

Well i just received a message from a CNN that this has gone thru. Just another good thing Obama did for women that Trump and his administration have taken away.

Not only that, but the Trump administration is actively working to ensure that the ACA market fails. They're reportedly shutting down the enrollment websites during the weekends (for maintenance) when a lot of people tend to enroll. They've cut or are not using advertisement budget to encourage enrollment. They've shortened the enrollment period by half. And Trump has personally urged the HHS to deny Iowa's (a red state) request to get more insurance companies in their market.

Read more about it here: As ACA enrollment nears, administration keeps cutting federal support of the law. These Repubican *******s do not care that their actions could directly hurt people as long as they make their point.

Also, there are potentially massive cuts to programs (up to and over $5 trillion), including Medicare, that are in the works to fund the tax cuts. This is an all-out assault on American citizens and most won't see it coming.

Yep, he did it. Another day, another awful thing from Trump. I despise that POS more than I thought humanly possible. I could go ON and ON and ON about how much I despise that human garbage, but I think y'all pretty much get it.

What's wrong with you, Callie?
Don't you know that abortion is always wrong, unless it's for the pregnant mistress of a married CongressCritter?
Sheesh!

These are dark days for women. :nono:
We're returning to the middle ages.

To further your great analysis, Old RICH white men. Today we read about old white men and power with the movie producer Harvey Weinstein who seems to be a creep, and a serial molester, exhibitionist and all around a$$hole. We can put a guy to death (or gal) but we pray for the unborn, America is turning into 1952. Terrible.

:wall:

This is the same idiocy that's led to such soaring success rates with abstinence-only education.

I fear for the young girls & indeed, all child bearing age women of America, because you know what will happen because of this? Back street abortions. That's what will happen. And death as a result, or young, pregnant teenagers with no way out other than suicude.

I am (thankfully) in the U.K. where birth control is free, condoms are free from Sexual Health Centres if you are desperate, and the Morning After Pill can be obtained from the Pharmacy, no questions asked.

America, welcome to 1950 :angryfire:

I'd like to extend a hearty middle finger to Trump voters, Trump supporters, non voters, and women who gleefully supported this nightmare.

Actually, +2

I'm just so saddened and angry. The bottom line (for me) is that every woman should be able to make decisions about HER OWN body. Period. Whether I would, or would not, have an abortion is my personal business...not anyone else's. I am frightened and heartbroken for the child bearing age women in our country.

I am going to excerpt some of this in case not everyone can get it on-line.

"The Flagrant Sexual Hypocrisy of Conservative Men"...https://www.nytimes.com/2017/10/06/...-left-region&WT.nav=opinion-c-col-left-region

"There are a few, rare exceptions that abortion opponents tend to allow to their hard-line rules: rape, incest, life or health of the mother, and 'I got my mistress pregnant.'

The most recent culprit in the category of anti-abortion double-think is Tim Murphy, a Pennsylvania Republican who on Thursday announced he would resign from his House seat this month.

...
It’s a child, not a choice, abortion opponents tell us. Unless the pregnancy is embarrassing and super-inconvenient and an impediment to your political future, in which case it’s merely a clump of cells. All life should be cherished and protected, as Mr. DesJarlais’s website insists, unless it’s your girlfriend who’s unexpectedly expecting, in which case you’ve got to cherish and protect your political future instead. Life begins at conception, as Mr. Rees-Mogg said in a debate, unless that life begins inside of a poor brown-skinned woman half a world away, and there’s money to be made from helping her to end it. It’s almost as if these men don’t really believe that every time sperm and egg combine, the result is a child worthy of being cherished and protected. It’s almost as if these men are fighting to make abortion a crime because they’re more invested in curtailing women’s options and controlling their bodies than they are with saving innocent lives.

The double standards employed by some members of the 'do as I say, not as I do' Christian right are nothing new. Show me a senator who votes against gay marriage, and, at least in one infamous case, I’ll show you a guy who’s soliciting same-sex encounters in the airport men’s room. (Hello there, Larry Craig!)

Show me another Republican senator who made his name as a “pro-family advocate” and I’ll show you a guy whose phone number showed up in a Washington madam’s little black book. (Howdy, David Vitter!)

Show me the far-right speaker of the House, a man with perfect scores from the National Right to Life Committee and the Christian Coalition, and I’ll show you a guy who, as a high-school wrestling coach, set up a chair in front of the boys’ shower the better to ogle his protégés, and who was eventually jailed as a serial child molester. (Dennis Hastert, come on down!)

We’ve been down this road of duplicity before. The televangelist who prayed, alongside his wife, for the return of traditional morals, admitted to having sex with — and was accused of rape by — a 21-year-old church secretary, and found to have paid her $279,000. The congressman who voted for the Defense of Marriage Act was sexting with his underage male pages.

Scandals roll by so frequently that there is, by now, an expected script: the shocking revelation, the tearful confession, the up-from-the-ashes reinstatement plea or re-election campaign, garlanded with declarations of “God/my wife/Willie Robertson, star of ‘Duck Dynasty’ has forgiven me, why can’t you?” Perhaps the most shocking part of Mr. Murphy’s story is that he elected to quit, rather than scream “Fake news!” or sit back and wait for a new story to eclipse his hypocrisy, as Mr. DesJarlais did.

But what Mr. Murphy’s moral flexibility ultimately reveals is that, for these particular hard-line anti-abortion politicians, it’s not about fetal pain or the sanctity of life. It’s all about control — whether you’re telling a woman she can’t have an abortion, or forcing a woman to get one.

Maura Healey, the Attorney General of Massachusetts filed suit today against the federal government for this attempted rollback on contraception. She asserts that it is illegal because it discriminates against women and also because it violates The Establishment Clause of The First Amendment of the Constitution. I heard her speak. I think she will win.

And this is why I live and raise my family in Massachusetts.

Hearing this on the news earlier today made my day.

Glad that people have moved towards filing suit. As they should, because this is f-ing BS and a blatant attempt to discriminate against women.

No logic.

Here is another piece of news. http://www.cnn.com/2017/10/03/politics/house-vote-abortion-after-20-week-ban/index.html

So they are not covering contraceptives. Obviously it will hit mostly low-income women and teenagers, the ones who can not afford the cost of prescribed contraceptives.

At the same time, abortion time window is getting narrower and narrower.

At the same time, health coverage for poor kids is suffering. https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/...petent-it-cant-fund-health-insurance-for-kids

So where is the logic. No coverage for contraceptives ---> more pregnancies among teens and unemployed -------> but abortions prohibited ---------> more births in the low-income and teenage groups --------> no health coverage for kids in low income families.

It's like they want to promote live births, only to watch kids die without any care? Or am I too blunt?

No logic.

The congress also

It brings to memory old Lysistrata...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lysistrata

The women of ancient Greece had a noble goal, to end the war, but covering contraceptives will work, too.

The land of the free = free to kill a sh@#load of people with guns but not free for women to make their own birth control choices.... I wonder when the % of the thinking population will say we are sick and tired of living in a country bought off and run by white male misogynistic extremist dickheads.

I've figured it out.
America needs to invent a gun that performs abortions, without hurting the woman.
The white male misogynistic extremist dickheads will love it.
A win win.

Nobel Prize here I come.

And the response from women who support him still? They don't care, right? Not their problem? Other stuff to worry about? :wavey:

kenny? Question here. Technical question. It is pertinent to the design of the gun.

Does it matter if the gun hurts the woman? I know it it not supposed to hurt the fetus, which is life, but surely the woman is expendable.

Can you clarify?

You are right @Elliot86. They don't care!

I realized I will never understand these women when they agreed with Pence that you should NEVER eat a meal alone with a member of the opposite sex, Now that is something to worry about.

Any time a woman willingly puts herself in a situation where a man dictates wtf she does I find it bizarre.
