Looking for an engagement ring, her 'specs' are as follows....

H&A / Excellent cut / AGS0
>= 1.7Ct
>= F
>=VS2
$20K-$23K
Anyone have comments on the stones available in this range? Thanks in advance to all who reply.....

Out of budget, but I have a soft spot for this 1.76 ct E VS1 ISEE2 with medium blue fluorescence at Good Old Gold. http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/4755/

It's the big brother to my 0.63 ct E VS2 ISEE2 with medium blue fluorescence from Good Old Gold, and it would be stunning. :love:

On a nother note, I've been sort of checking diamonds on and off and I remember seeing a similar 1.7E VS2 at whiteflash for a similar price, I guess it was sold..... :(( Anyone here?

and have the prices have been raised recently, I remember seeing the prices about $500-$1K less earlier this year?

I guess I might have waitied too long....

On the lower end of your price range is this 1.76 F VS2 from Blue Nile. Also with medium blue fluorescence, which I personally consider a plus.

No trade up policy, but if she plans on keeping the diamond for a number of years, this might be a good choice. Blue Nile has a 30 day return policy, so I'd suggest having it reviewed by an appraiser, if you decide to go this route.

If she would be cool with a G color, this might be good: http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/G-IF ... 197193.asp The picture is a little blurry or something on the website, but the HCA gives it a 1.6.

This one is nice too, and a 1.9 HCA: http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/G-IF ... 201144.asp
Same issue with the blurry picture but perhaps they could give you better pictures if you asked.

For both, they would be within your budget if you bankwire the payment and get the pricescope discount from JA.

first looks nice, second might have obstruction issues - I can't tell much from the gcal pic

but the WF is cheaper, comes w/ lifetime upgrade/trade policy, well cut & guaranteed H&A & has IS/ASET/hearts posted to verify..

Actually, I would say the second BN SI has slight leakage issue, even the GCAL brilliance analysis support that, with the map they generated probably rating a VG instead of Ex on their 'scale'.

I know your specs are F or better, and VS1 or better... but if I had your budget this is the exact stone I'd get:

http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/4884/

We just bought a 2ct H SI2 from GOG and it faces up very white, is triple ex, and the light return, scintillation etc is amazing. Plugged into the cut adviser it performs really well too. Also, our shopping exp was very smooth, and they are very reputable.

Either way if you're buying online, I'd suggest finding a reputable appraiser (pricescope has a listing) and having the vendor send the stone to the appraiser so you can check out the stone in person before buying it. Every diamond is unique, and I think seeing it in person can make a big difference.
