I bought these turquoise pieces. The green spotted stone is variscite.

These stones were from a mixed lot.

And Miso is getting in on the jewelry design

Thanks for the photos. How fun! I wish we had one here. I am in real need of a pick me up. Did anything stand out for you? What were your impressions of the imperial topaz being sold?

So cool, I've never been to one. I love that fluff, what type of cat is he/she?

Yes, it was such fun! It took us four hours to go through the whole show, and I could've stayed longer!

All the gems in that case were really nice, and cut well, at least to my eye.
The imperial topaz was a pretty dark peach/honey color, hard to describe! The stones were rather large, 2-3 cts.
I didn't ask any prices, since I wasn't in the market for them at this time.

The dealers with fine jewelry are always a stand out for me, and there was a lovely sapphire ring, a chubby pear, but it was out of my budget!

These shows occur twice a year, March and October.
I only missed one show in the last 10 years.
DH always goes with me, and he likes to pick something out for himself.
This year he chose the variscite in the 11th photo. I'll be making a sterling ring for him soon.

We got Miso from the shelter 9 years ago.
He's just a gray kitty, no pedigree.
He's a wiley rascal, full of vim and vigor!

@stracci2000 he looks like a prince.

He'll be pleased that you called him a prince!
He's a color change cat!
It's really weird how his fur changes colors depending on the lighting or what he's sitting on.
Sometimes he looks bluish gray, sometimes he looks brownish purple, or even greenish. He's a weird one!

Looks like a fun show, so wish we had something similar here but alas, I’ll have to live vicariously through your pictures.

Love the turquoise pieces you bought. Also I would not guess Miso is 9, he looks younger to me, handsome guy.

I've never been to a gem show so thank you for taking us on a virtual ride-along :)

Love the pics! I think I would be overwhelmed but would still love to browse. Those rubellite looked juicy!

I heard there is a mineral show in Bristol CT this weekend. I don't know if that's near you or not.
It doesn't look like a big show, but you could check it out.....

Miso is 13 yrs. old, going on 3! He acts like a crazy toddler sometimes.
He's very energetic......when he's awake!

Looks like total bliss:kiss2:

It was indeed! Almost any gem you can think of was there.
And some stones were still in the host rock!

Ah, not sure where I got 9 from, so obviously he looks even better being four years older.

I’ve been to the show in Bristol, it is a small venue, yours looks humongous from the pictures you shared compared to ours.

I looked it up and it’s actually next weekend, I’m working Saturday but don’t know about Sunday yet.

Yeah, not all shows are the same.
The show we have here has 70+ vendors, so it takes a while to see it all.

I just realized that there is imperial topaz in the displays of two separate vendors that I posted.
What selection at this show!

Yes, it is overwhelming.
Especially when you see three things you love at the very first booth.
Then you try to make mental notes of where all the great things are, so you can go back and look again.......

Should have called him Alex! Hahaha.

Would you consider going down the custom-cutting route, as Jeff W may still have some Imperial Topaz roughs in his inventory?

DK :))
