Well things are slowly starting to resemble a wedding. We decided on our colors last week!!

Black, Champagne (tan, not pink), Ivory, with Platinum/Silver ebemllishments

I don''t know how to cut and paste things into one of those "inspiration" collages, so I''ll have to post the things that I have come up with so far. Let me know what you think.

Here is the link to my previous thread where you can see the venues.

(Just some insight, I''m more worried about the colors matching the church than I am about them matching the reception site.)

Our theme is "Elegant, Timeless, Unforgettable".

Those are my colors too! You have excellent taste!

I''ve been going between platinum and yellow gold accents, but just can''t decide....I''m leaning more towards platinum, because I like it better as a color, but thought that hints of yellow gold would show up better in the flowers. How did you decide?

Also, your BM inspirational dresses are fabulous.

I''m thinking about incorporating family members in my flowers... I''m leaning towards Gardenia''s because my mom always has them around our house when they bloom in our yard at home.

This is a bit too long, and viney, but I like the look. I also want to put a hidden yellow rose in my bouquet because one of my grandfathers, who passed away, always sang "Yellow rose of Texas" to me when I was younger.

Really love this one, but will probably cost an arm and a leg in Texas in July.

Hi Meresal,

I love the 1st bridesmaid dress, it''s really classy. I also really like the idea for the flowers. I''m sure it will be lovely!

Adore these shoes, anyone know where they are from? The color is perfect, but they may be a little too high for a 6 hour event.

To be honest I never thought about using any yellow gold. I think that it would look too much like the champagne. At first we thought about using Slate instead of Chapmagne, and yellow gold wouldn''t have gone with that. So ,when we swithced to champagne we just left everything else as is.

When is your wedding??

Thanks DCgator! How's the newly engaged feeling?!?

Thank you Dragonfly!

Holy cow I have those shoes!! I think. I have something that looks really similar. I got them from Nordstroms. Damn! I tried finding out who makes them but I put some of those foot petal things in the shoe and can''t get the designer''s name...

I also wanted to add that my dog loved those shoes too because she got two quick chomps on them before I got them away from her. I remember they weren''t THAT expensive, but they''re not very comfortable at all...

Hi! My wedding is 14 Feb 2009. We really, really didn''t want to get married on Valentine''s Day, but it was the only opening our venue had for 2 years! Our venue is really important to us, so we just took the date, even though it isn''t really us and seems to be complicating wedding planning. Oh well!

Your floral arrangements are great. I love peonies, but there is no way I will be able to get them in the middle of the winter in the UK! I''ve been contemplating white lilies, roses, tulips, snowdrops and hyacinth with maybe gold or platinum ribbon around the base? Or maybe very very few sprigs of gold/platinum leaves or something. Hmmmm. I think we''re only incorporating the metallic color in with flowers and invitations. In fact, the whole reason I was thinking of the yellow gold in the first place is because the invitations we love have a yellow gold border. Is it completely ridiculous to plan a wedding around the invitations? Probably, but they match our venue so well that I can''t help myself! (Venue is Victorian and the invites have a Victorian theme).

Are your BMs matching? Are you going to incorporate champagne and black in their dresses?

I should have posted a pic of our invites (these are a sample from her Etsy shop). I just thought....maybe I can have her change the color from gold to silver when she prints them? Have you picked out invitations yet?

lliang- I'll take your word that they aren't very comfortable. They certainly don't look it. Thanks for the info!!

Meowtown- I think it would be great to use the accent color around the stems of the flowers, we are going to use Champagne or Ivory, but the ivory could look too white though. The idea of using leaves will really accent everything as well. You're invitations do have a very victorian feel, and will be great for you wedding. It sounds perfect for a Valentine's Day ceremony!! I looked at some invitations I liked, then found out they were $28/invite!! Which will NOT be happening. LOL. I haven't really had time to look at all my options. We still have to decide how many we need to send out, and then see what we can get for that part of the budget.
My BM's will be matching. They will more than likely be in Black floor length dresses. That dress will be the next big thing to tackle. Well, that and the Rehersal Dinner that my FMIL is planning/got a planner for. We are going over things tonight, so I'm pretty excited!

Cali- Blush will look fabulous!! I really like the way it looks with the colors, and it will add a really nice softness. I love that peony bouquet, are you going to be re-creating it?!? Thanks for the threads. I will definitely be using those, they'll be very helpful!
The strapless BM dress is "Laundry by Design". Can be found on the Bloomingdales sight, and there are like 6 different colors. The halter dress I will have to look up for you.

Meresal, thanks for letting me know who makes the bridesmaid dress. I have two bridesmaids who may be bigger than a size 12 though, so off the rack bridesmaid dresses aren''t going to work for me...maybe I''ll start another thread about the bridesmaid dresses I like...

I think your inspirations are great. I can''t wait to see how your wedding turns out.

Also, I was warned that the fragrance of gardenas can be overpowering if you use them in boutonnieres, so keep that in mind if you go with them. I love gardenas, I wish I could have used them...

Meresal - Gorgeous! Great color palette and I love all of your ideas so far ... Based on what I have seen, you are going to ace your theme - It''s perfect!

gtn: I agree that gardenias smell wonderful in a field of flowers, but have wondered how overpowering they could be in church. I will be sure to check with my florist before I make any permanent decisions. Thanks for your input!

Sparkalicious: Thank you!!

Cali: You should start a thread to see if anyone can help. I've had a heck of a time trying to find suitable BM dresses. Best of luck.

Hey Meresal! Congrats on another planning decision done!

If you want to create an inspiration board, I really like http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/home. I love to play around with it, but it can be a bit of a vortex. You think you''ll play with it for a few minutes and two hours later you''re still at it. It''s fun!

I think it all looks elegant and rich and sophisticated! I am sure you can find so many things that work into that scheme!

I also think platinum is softer and I like it better for accents, it has more warm undertones and silver might be too bright.
