So, I think I''m getting closer to making a decision on a stone....I promise this is the last silly questions I''ll ask..........

Right now, I''m in between Round or Cushion cut.....I can''t decide which one I like....I like both shape equally. My concern for this cushion is it has strong blue fluorescence, Polish and Symmetry is "Very Good"......, and ASET image doesn''t look as good as other Vintage cushion they have? What''s your opinion on this cushion??

cushion

AGS0 Ideal Round I''m considering is G color, VS1, light performance is 0, 3.09carats.

Looking at GOG''s video, this cushion seems to perform very well, but does it perform as well as AGS0 Ideal Round? I want the stone that blinds people around!

Comparing apples and oranges here.

It is much more difficult to get Ex polish and symm for a fancy cut. Strong blue fluor is only a problem with those over-blue stones that are rare and those will not make it into GOG's inventory as far as I know. You can ask GOG to confirm. Other than that it is a personal preference thing, I like fluor, has 2 VSB stones, granted at a much lower color grade, just like the ability to change in different lighting conditions.

ASET looks good, not sure what you are comparing...

EDT:

How about asking GOG to video the 2 stones you like side by side or better yet go/fly down to GOG and view them yourself to make a decision.

Not silly at all. Unfortunately, they are two totally different looks and just depend on your taste. Jon can tell you how this cushion stacks up to others he has had.

Just my opinion - certainly not trying to sway you - I prefer the AGS0 round for an ering. I suppose I''m more traditional and it is a look I''m accustomed to. I love the symmetry of the round stones and that you get the same ''around the clock'' sparkle so to speak. Again, just my opinon!

Best of luck - you''ve got a wonderful dilemma on your hands!

I have owned a WF A Cut Above ideal round and a couple AV cushions around the 1 ct range.

As far as optics, my opinion is that the cushions blew away the round and were far more impressive/noticeable. My cushion polish/symmetry was Good/Good, so that did not have an effect on the performance at all (I was worried it would too!).

Have you looked at the GOG videos with an ideal round and AV cushion? If that hasn't helped you decide, I would consider getting the cushion shipped to a local appraiser to see it for yourself, and a trip to jewelry store to look at ideal rounds (or shipped to appraiser as well if this is not possible). I could tell within about 10 seconds of seeing it in person that the AV cushion was for me, and think this is the best/only way to decide if you are wavering!

http://www.vimeo.com/5219738 Take a look at the comparison in natural light near the end of the video. Hands down the cushion for me but I''m not exactly objective as you can tell from my nickname on here.

Not all AGS0 rounds are created equal post the round as well, I suspect though the round will faceup a bit larger.

That is what I would do. Both could be beautiful but they are completely different types of diamond so it really depends on your preference. I also don''t think a strong blue with issues will make it into Jon''s inventory either as he screens his stones with the utmost care but no harm in checking for your peace of mind.

It would be the cushion for me (not that it matters

Thanks guys.........so I don''t have to worry about the strong blue flur?
As far as the videos go, they all look SO pretty and telling you the truth I like the cushion better than the round because it is different.
My original ER was round, then I upgraded to Radiant, but my original wasn''t H&A or AGS0 Ideal. I''m considering the Round because it supposed to shine/sparkle the best if you have the ideal cut stones.......or so I hear?

Sadly, I can''t have both stones in the same picture because the round is not from GOG........

I am sure GOG can offer a compareable round for you to see.
