Hi PSers! My original ering is beautiful but DSS set in about 10 years after I had it. My dream has always been to upgrade to a larger stone. That dream came true for our 25th anniversary! I have learned so much from this site and I couldn't have done it without your expertise and knowledge. I know everyone likes to see stats so here they are: Original ering center stone 1.78 ct, H VS1, GIA VG cut; side stones G, 0.70 ctw, 14K white gold. New ring: 3.3 ct, J, SI1 (eye clean), GIA excellent cut; pave stones 0.50 ctw, 14K white gold. My finger size is 5. Personally, the J color doesn't bother me at all as it looks so white and sparkly. Sorry for the fuzzy photos. I can't get the hang of taking good pictures, despite reading all the tutorials! :wall: I'm considering changing the head on my new setting to a six prong. I think the four prong gives it a more cushiony look. What do you think?

Congratulations! Personally I think the 4 prong is beautiful & I would be reluctant to tamper with it.

WOW!! That's a GOREGEOUS ring, njblinger!!

Although I'm a huge fan of a six-prong, I think I'd leave it as is... and I adore the tab prongs!! :appl:

We need more handshots!! Profile shots, too!!

Wow now that is an upgrade! I love your new beautiful new ring and I think it looks perfect just as it is.

Oh my *goodness,* that is fabulous! It looks so beautiful on your hand! I like the 4-prong look -- plush and gorgeous! :appl:

Thank you so much, everyone! I really appreciate your kind comments and advice on the prongs. Here are some more pics.

Happy 25th anniversary!!! That ring is most definitely an upgrade...a beautiful ring!

Holy Smokes! I'm crazy about that setting. What a lovely anniversary upgrade. Congrats and much happiness to you!

Aw, you're all so nice and your comments have really made my day. Some of you mentioned the setting, which I really love. Yekutiel from ID Jewelry recommended it. My eternity band is also from IDJ (Pricescope quality stones, 2.2 tw carats). Here are some more shots of the setting. It's a three sided pave setting.

Now that's an upgrade, wow! Really beautiful & huge  Congratulations!

Your ring is beautiful.
Congratulations on your 25th anniversary!

gorgeous huge fabulous ring! a 3 carat is awesome!! Are you stuck with this setting or can you change it? If you can, I would get a cheap plain six prong and wear it like that for a while before deciding on a long term if not final setting. Or, if you know exactly what you want, get that. If you're undecided, wait.

I love both your new and old rings :appl: Congrats on 25th anniversary!

Gorgeous ring!!! I love the setting as it is! You'd really have to change settings to go with 6 prongs.

Beautiful ring. Congrats!!

Love your new stone and setting!! Very beautiful and I wouldn't change a thing about it!

Did you trade in your old ring or are you keeping it?

Oh wow, what a fabulous upgrade! It looks absolutely gorgeous, and really huge, on your finger! Are you sure you aren't a size 3 ?lol! Love the setting, I wouldn't change a thing! Congrats!

Thanks again everyone. When I first got the upgrade, the stone was set in a simple six-prong Tiffany style setting. The shank was very thin and the ring kept spinning. I thought a simple setting would show off the stone, but surprisingly this setting with the side paves really made it pop. I'm going to keep the setting as is with the four prongs. But I'm already thinking about a setting with French cut side stones and claw prongs :naughty: But not any time soon (otherwise may not make it to 26th anniversary!) MissGotRocks, I'm keeping my original ering for sentimental reasons.

Congratulations on your 25th anniversary! Fabulous upgrade, your beautiful ring looks amazing on your hand!
