Hello everyone,
I have a couple questions. I''m trying to decide between two stones, and I really like both. I want to know which is a better value, because I love both, one for color, and one for size.

The below is identical for both:
- Round Brilliant
- Polish and Symmetry are Very Good
- Neither has fluorescence or culet
- Both are VS2

STONE 1- $6643
- 1.11 Carat
- E Color
- 6.71- 6.77 x 4.06 mm
- Depth: 60.2
- Table: 59
- Girdle: Thin to Medium, Faceted

STONE 2- $7344
- 1.2 Carat
- F Color
- 6.73- 6.79 x 4.17 mm
- Depth: 61.7
- Table: 57
- Girdle: Thin to Thick, Faceted

Which should I get? Thanks a million!

Get Sarin reports on the stones and post the info. Then people can give you an idea of what sort of cuts these stones may have...a HUGE factor in your decision, or it should be anyway.

My two cents is that the difference of E to F color is minimal and you shouldn't pay more for that. I would choose size over an E stone anyday--but again..the cut may be what sways you in the end. Get more info...

I also wanted to note that their diameters almost look the same. This means that one of them probably isn't the best cut...see how different their depths are? If you have one stone that is supposed to be 1.11 and another that is 1.20, there should be a visual eye difference there IMO from stones I have seen in person. The diameters should not be as similar as these averages are. If you average out both stones ranges, the diameter for both is almost the same (one is 6.74 and one is 6.76)! That means that while you may pay more for the 1.2c stone weight...you are NOT getting a bigger looking stone than the 1.11. Hence...the cut...being important.

I did a little search and an excellent cut 1.11c stone should have a diameter of around 6.73 and 4.10 depth. The 1.20 excellently cut stone should have a diameter of around 6.90mm and a 4.20 depth. So take a look at your numbers and see what is off. The second stone looks like it should be larger in diameter...but it is not. So it will not look like a well cut 1.20c stone. Don't pay extra for it.

Good luck!

thanks so much!!
