And Then Came Aurelia

Yesterday was our nine-year wedding anniversary.

And today, Aurelia came home.

It feels like the two moments belong together somehow. My husband and I could have met so many years ago—his father used to take him into my family’s pawn shop when he was a boy. The first time he met my stepmother, she looked at him and said he looked just like his late father. She even knew his name. Strange how the threads of our stories cross long before we even realize it.

Her name is Aurelia - she’s warm and soft, glowing from within, but strong where it matters. She feels like she has always belonged to me, like she was just waiting for the right moment to arrive.

And here she’s is! It’s been overcast and raining most of the day so these were the best I could get during work - I work from home so I’m a bit limited to where I can take pictures at the moment.

I got this stone in March from Alex Parks @peppermintpatty is actually the angel who found it for me! I fell in love with it instantly. The stone is a GIA graded 3.02ct, VS1, N, Old European. I will do my best to get more pictures when the weather cooperates! I’ll attach some of the loose diamond pics.

I have found enclosed mountings like that can change the optics of old cuts, often amping up the contrast, and in this case it absolutely works in your favour. She was always a lovely diamond but this setting really allows her facet pattern to be appreciated even more.

The perfect way to show your beautiful diamond! Like others have mentioned, the gallery, swoon worthy!!!! also love the fact that there is no milgrain around the diamond, yet double milgrain on the halo. No engraving, you kept it simple, but there is nothing simple about her. The addition of the milgrain around the outer edges of the halo is the perfect finishing touch! The diamonds on the shoulders add that extra kiss of bling and with the milgrain edges, it couldn't possibly look more perfect with your wedding band!
