I think a thinner band would make the diamond really pop. This would sparkle like crazy though...

Agree with marcyc, the band should be a little thinner than that princess. It will make your stone take centerstage!

Could you set the band with princess cut diamonds, flush-set rather than bead set like the rounds? Removing the extra metal would streamline the design, allowing the diamond to take center stage, yet keep the width and sparkle.
