Anyone have any idea what this is worth? I've had it quite a few years now. 20171013_131720.jpg

Rock shops sell this kind of material by the pound. It varies with the details, most notably the location of the shop and the origin of the stone, but $5/lb is a good starting point. Note, this is not what they PAY, and it's a difficult item to sell on the private market.

I'm in the UK so I'm not sure if that changes anything?

Hi:

this is a low grade specimen that looks like it was meant to be a paperweight. There are some based on location/color/size that can command a bit more but as denverappraiser has said, ammy is very common.

Ammy can also be dyed. Its quartz so to make unbecoming pieces more attractive they can and do dye them darker.

Honestly you're better of keeping if you like it. You won't get much for it no matter how old it is.

You should post this in the colored stone area if you have further questions.

That looks like what is left after someone picks all the gem grade material out off a pile.
Value 0.

Pics are not clear enough to assign any value other than a wild guess.
Which the above is.
