I agree Kenny. I agree. I hate this most of all. I do not like engaging in small talk and find it painful and draining.

I never had a manicure or a pedicure.

I have had them in the past when I was young. Have not had them for decades and I do not miss them at all. First of all I know too much and it just isn't safe to do the foot bath in the salons. No way they are properly disinfected. Just no way. And there is risk for infection in other ways too. So yeah no thanks.

My mother, who always wears makeup and coordinate clothes/jewelry, has always been appalled at how I leave the house...."aren't you going to get ready?" "you're going out like that???"

This is me. I do not care how I look running errands. In fact I have left the house in hair clips. I do not blow my hair dry rather let it air dry so I clip it while it is drying to encourage the curl. And I have left the house with my hair wet to run errands with the clips still in. So what?

I never blow dry my hair. I do not even own a hair dryer. I do clip the front so it dries off my face but that is all I do. My hair is not thick however though it takes about 4 hours to dry fully. But I know it is easier to air dry my hair than thick hair.

This. Trying to tame thick curly hair is exhausting! If there is any moisture in the air, my hair swells into full beauty pageant hair. Lol. Curl cream and barrettes 95% works for me 95% of the time.

Me neither.

I'd worry about:
* More unnecessary COVID exposure.
* Toxic chemicals and fumes on my skin and in my lungs that they are using on me and other customers in the room.
* Lack of hospital-level surgical-like sterilization of tools and employee hands that probably are contaminated from the previous customer, who's likely infected with every contagious disease and skin or hair condition known to science.
* Wasted money, time, and gas because I can do it myself ... with no hassle of waiting or keeping appointments.

These are also why I cut my own hair.

Exactly! It also helps that my hands aren’t pretty…Getting my nails done wouldn’t add anything to my hands other than draw attention to them. Diamonds on the other hand become the focus so they work!

Not for me @Calliecake. I should have also added I never had a massage. The idea of someone touching me all over, other than my husband, would be too weird for me.

I cannot live without my pedicures. I suffered for decades with painful toenail issues and once I started, it was life changing. Not only can I comfortably wear shoes and wear sandals without embarrassment, it stopped the need for visits to the podiatrist.

It was one of the first/few things I did outside of my Covid bubble. Admittedly, the place I go has always been super clean and the person who runs it is a germaphobe. (They use disposable liners in the foot bath, etc..). For Covid, they put up acrylic cages, touchless faucets, no walk-ins, blocked off chairs for social distancing and even wiped down the chairs/surfaces between customers. They put in more precautions and I felt safer than anywhere else I went. But I know what you mean, I am totally uncomfortable at most of the other nail places I've seen...especially those inexpensive place that are set up for volume.
