I'm looking to buy this ring and trying to determine if the price is good and fair.

- 1.1 CT Cushion Cut
- H color,
- SI2 (looks totally eye clean to me, I can only see a small twinning wisp in the corner under the 10x magnification. No black inclusions)
- GIA certification
- Excellent cut

Ring is a split shank Henri Daussi in 14K white gold. Ring is 1.7CT total weight.

Price is $5400

This is from a brick and mortar store (not blue nile, james allen, etc.). Not giving the name, but they seem to be fairly big and popular on PriceScope.

Please let me know any thoughts, concerns, things I should look out for, etc. Mostly trying to determine if the price is good and fair.

Is that the list price? Always either offer less or ask what they will accept for the item. But I think that price sounds okay.

Not the list price (quite a bit below), he showed me the list price on their website. I told the jeweler that I had a budget (but gave him no number or even range of numbers) and asked him for the best price. This is what he came up with having no idea how much I was looking to spend.

I feel that the price is fairly accurate w/ what I am seeing online. Perhaps I can get slightly cheaper elsewhere but no physical location and no seeing the diamond in person.

I think the price sounds good considering that it includes the setting and you have seen it to know it is truly eyeclean! I guess the only other thing you could ask for would be an ASET image to see if it has decent light return.

Thanks everyone for all your comments and suggestions. After reading all your posts, I have two takeaways.

1) The price seems to be good and fair, especially vs. the frame of reference links posted.
2) I'll check out more normal cut cushions as comparison vs. Daussi cut

I'm almost 100% certain I remember the jeweler saying this was NOT a Daussi cut cushion. Is it possible to have a non-Daussi diamond in a Daussi ring?
