AGS vs GIA vs HRD

A diamond novice seeking forum experts'' advice on which type of certification is better?

GIA and AGS are both very good. My understanding is that GIA grades more diamonds but AGS is a little bit more upper end. Either would be great.

I''ve never heard of HRD but I''m new here.

From what I know, HRD is on par with GIA/AGS for color and clarity and seems to be the grading lab of choice in europe (i think).
Don''t know how their cut grades compare though.

Yes, HRD is a reputable lab which is better known in Europe than the USA. See this page for more info on the main grading labs.
